My friend and I (true blue gamers and game/console collectors) truly want to like this store. They do have an impressive selection of game titles but they also have a lot of games that are in poor condition or with light damage (severely faded covers). The store is small, very grungy and very dirty atmosphere. Nothing is priced and they claim (upon asking) to price by Gamestop's prices, they said that they try to go a little less . Of course upon further inspection and several visits, we found that to be a complete lie. My friend and I caught them lying to us more than once, fabricating prices for games inquired about. And we asked why would they put a 20% increase instead of a lower price like previously told. They refused to answer and chose to ignore us instead. Business will not be done here again and will never be recommended to anyone, ever. If the right people own that business? It would be such an amazing experience but unfortunately with the current employees and ownership? You're best to take your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhoever said the store is āsmellyā ādirtyā and overpriced is out of their mind lmao. First off its a classic video game store, and about 4x bigger than a store like that needs to be. The amount of stuff packed in there is amazing, and you need a few hours to really look through it all. It smells like old games, like it should. Its not a food store or thrift shop that often smell weird. And i checked the prices on a few dozen games, they are all consistently a dollar or 2 less than the average selling price on ebay, nothing is more. And plenty of deals if you dig. How anyone could complain about having a store like this , in 2018, in springfield mass, is just insane. You want $2 n64 first party titles, go to goodwill, ive been killing it all year at the thrifts, if you want a game you cant find in the wild, less than ebay, with no shipping wait, this is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to like the store. I really do. Their selection is impressive, and they have a ton of great vintage stuff. The problem, however, is that there are NO PRICES on ANY of the games. That means that every time you see something that you might be interested in, you have to ask one of the bored (and, occasionally, surly) employees how much it costs. THEN, if they don't ignore you, the employee LOOKS UP THE PRICE ON THE INTERNET. Seriously. You pay eBay/Amazon prices, with NO discount. Plus they don't take into account the often grimy and sun-damaged condition of their product. The place is a dump - there is dust and dirt everywhere, and the games all look like they have been abused by your least favorite cousin. So save your time, and just try to snag a good deal online, because there are no deals to...
