Neat place. But we had a heck of a time finding it. I was expecting large entry gates. There was a small, one lane entrance open that at firat glance we just thought was a building. We circled the block and found it. Once inside, we didnt know where to go, so drove around a bit before finding a map at the entrance that we didnt notice at first. From the main entrance, its to the right. You turn in between some little cabin buildings and a bathroom building, sort of behind the giant slide. Neat photos of places along the route, a little history and a few old signs and advertisements. Would be a good starting spot to get some ideas of places to go along route 66. We stopped kind of on a whim after...

This place is a must see. I wish we had come here before we started our Illinois route 66 trip, there is so much information in one place that would have made our route 66 trip easier to navigate. I would highly recommend going thru each of the stations and taking pictures of all the iconic places in the area you will be traveling and the towns they are in, this information when you are traveling on route 66 will make it possible to find everything that might interest you. I only have one picture on my cell phone of the images inside the stations, but posted it to show and a picture of my wife and I watching the movie screen at the...

While there are many things to celebrate about Route 66 for some, the entries for the Black experience and the Green Book is embarrassing. Each Green Book location featured in the various barns is exactly the same as the last. All they had done was to change the name of the town on the sign, while reusing the same picture and verbiage from the last. Come on, we...

Fun outdoor park documenting route and history of Rte 66 in Illinois. A collection of signs, trivia, and a pathway which “takes you from Chicago to LA”…or at least St Louis. I walked it quickly in less than 10 minutes, but you could easily spend double to take in all the information signs and art. A nice diversion!
