Legacy Theatre — Attraction in Springfield

Coming back to this theatre brought back many memories to when I performed a play at this location when it was STC. Now a new (Legacy) theatre has since taken over creating more opportunities to increase Springfield's access to art. The seats are comfortable and I oive how the downstairs is an open concessions area with enough searing. They have accessibility to bathrooms upstairs (in addition to downstairs) as well as an accessible ramp. I'm not too sure about their parking situation when they have packed crowds but we were able to find street parking 30 seconds away from the building 10 minutes before the show.

It is an older building so it was a bit rustic the closer you get downstairs but you can tell they take pride in their location.

The Uniformed Ushers were friendly and helpful when I inquired how to meet cast afterwards. They directed me towards a side courtyard that is spacious enough to accommodate many.

Concert sound was awesome. Souvineer cups were awesome, but soda's were $6 each with $4 refills. Kinda high. The railing on the back step almost killed me. It was rusted out and almost fell over when I tried to use it on the stairs. Before the end of the night It had completely fallen over and someone was being arrested for knocking it over. It was already broke. Managment let him be arrested anyway because he flipped out when he fell and hurt himself. I hope that all works out. But the building is beautiful. Sound bounce is nice. Wonderful theatre, one of the best in Springfield. Not open everyday, but plays and musicals are a staple here, and other then the Hoogland on 6th, this is one of the only other theatres worth going to in Springfield. It is a lovely place up and downstairs. The downstairs area serves as a bar and snack bar, complete with a male and female restroom. Parking is a little tough but it's downtown Springfield, so that is expected. There is some street parking and a lot just to the west that can be utilized without worrying about...
