I had the worst experience I have ever received from a restaurant today at Sunrise Cafe. The food was okay but my experience is due to the staff. I had a large pick up order which I normally do on Fridays because my colleagues and I enjoy ordering out on that day. I went through the drive thru, which I have done before per their request, and waited for a brief amount of time when an employee started shouting totals at me and when I asked her for what order she rolled her eyes and walked away. We are very organized and I have the orders written on envelopes with payment methods in each envelope. When she came back I just handed her the envelopes, explained and she took off with them. She comes back with three receipts and yells, "Start signing! We're so backed up!" Another staff member which seemed very agitated because of the look on her face said, "Here is your food so you're good to go." I told her that I'm still waiting on some of my payment methods. She huffed and left. The original employee came back and I signed those receipts and handed them back to her. She made me feel very rushed and like my business was not wanted. When I counted to make sure that I had all the payment methods I realized one was missing. The employee came back to the window and said, "Ma'am we really need you to move because we have other customers that are waiting." I explained that I am missing one my colleague's payment methods. She found it, handed it to me and waited at the window until I left. There were no receipts for the food. I usually tip but I felt their service was so terrible that they didn't deserve that. Read moreI ordered from this place this morning. I was very patient with them as I did order while in the drive thru. I pulled around twice as not to hold up the line when my food wasn’t ready. When I got home with it, the waffle was dry and overcooked, the corn beef hash was overcooked, and the French toast legit tasted like a salty sponge. I called the manager to let her know about my overcooked items and she told me it was my fault and she couldn’t do anything about it. I was told if I had taken my food straight home instead of pulling around waiting for someone else’s then my food would have been fine. I tried to explain to her that waiting on another order could not possibly cause my food to be burnt. She was adamant that it was my fault and that she couldn’t replace it. The thing is, I NEVER asked her to. I just wanted to let her know that the food I was served was not edible.
