I stated off going to Yankee Pawn and Peddler down in East Hartdord CT. Great guys, quoted me 550 for my gold pile. I kept it only because it was my moms and I was still hesitant on selling. But I still wanted to know what it was worth so I went to Good o'l Tom's that was near by...they were a reputable place always on TV saying how great they are, so I figured they wouldn't steer me wrong...same pile, 335!! I told the guy that the place down the road would give me 550 so he said "ok I'll do that" I told him to pound sand. A few months had past so I took it to a place in Springfield over on Carew street called AJ But and Sell who quotes me 550 again but I've since then added to my pile!!! Somethings going on around here!! So with frustration and no one to trust or to turn to I googled "best prices on gold in Springfield" well, Springfield Jewery and Diamond Exchange can up with 5 stars. Everyone was ranting about this guy Gorege. So I tried them and ended up talking to Gorege's brother Mike...greatest guy in the world!! This guy was a straight shooter and weighed everything including measuring of the stones. He quoted me for the same pile that the lady over on Carew St quoted me but 400 more, plus I kept the one peice that reminded me most about my mother. 400!!! This guy could of quoted me 600 and I would have been happy but 950!!! And the best part of this experience was that Mike looked happy that he could give me such a good price. This guy took his time with me and treated me with the utmost respect. I highly recommend these guys and if you ask for Mike, you can't go wrong. Hats off to you Mike! Thanks again and I'm glad I read all of your great reviews and...

My ring of 7 years broke so I went to go and get it fixed. Initially I was going to go to the bigger name stores and chains. With the pandemic and running a small business myself I decided to go local. I looked up several places and read reviews and decided to go with the Diamond and Jewellery Exchange. Well they did fix the ring but the customer service left a lot to desire. Initially dropping off the ring I was acknowledged and was told someone would be with me. 5 minutes later someone comes out. No small talk or frills. This is not my first time getting something fixed. The other time a name Frank told me about the watch and it's design. The material used for the link. What he was going to do to expand the band. More information than I needed but I appreciated the clear demonstration of knowledge. Frank though is Boston and is retired now. Small business thrive off of relationships and being personable. Maybe they are well established. Maybe their margins work in their favor. Maybe they got the small business loan. Which ever the case maybe it was very dismal service. In picking up my ring a week later it was still a lack lustre experience. This time I was the only customer in the place.
I will say I did go to another small local establishment 16 Acres and had an amazing customer service experience.

Read moreI will never do business with another jeweler - ever! This family owned Jeweler's is undeniably HONEST. You just don't see this anymore. On one of my visits I observed the owner telling an older gentleman that he was lied to by a previous jeweler he had gone to see, for an estimate on his gold. The man had 18ct gold but the previous jeweler told him he only had 10ct jewelry!! Rather than taking full advantage of the gentleman, the owner paid out almost twice the amount he would have been paid!
Stop by and see if you agree. Their jewelry is unique, gorgeous and more than fairly priced. I leave there knowing that I got great service on beautiful jewelry and I didn't get screwed! I'm very confident you will feel the same!
I'll say it again, you just don't see this kind of...
