I have not been able to eat the food here so this is not a review of their food. I would like to eat here but they don't have a take out menu and they don't have a website or a place where I can view the menu without actually going in, sitting down, and eating there in person. I like to get take out after work sometimes and I really want to try this place. I went in today and asked for a takeout menu and was told they don't have any takeout menus for me to take home with me. They only have the menus that are put on tables. I was honestly bothered by this because I didn't have a phone on me to take pictures of their menu. So, I walked out without a take out menu and I wasn't able to take pictures of their in house menu so I still can't eat here. It's weird. We are in 2024 and restaurants should have a way for customers to look at their menus without having to go into the actual restaurant to sit down and eat there. I was even willing to drive down to the place and grab a takeout menu but they didn't even have that. They could be making more money and bringing in more customers if they could just either have a website with their menu or at a minimum provide a takeout menu for customers to take home. I'm happy to change my review when this place actually provides a takeout menu or a website I can look at a menu on and I can actually order food and see what it is like, but until then, 3 stars for being so weirdly...
Read moreFood was good. It was slightly rushed so the flavor didnât seep in as much, but still fresh. The main problem was the attitude from staff to owner. Getting the stink eye from the owner and the staff taking an hour to make a limeade when there were only two other patrons and only one UberEats order already completed. Also, the waiter treating the caucasian people who came in after my party by 10 minutes better than us gave me a sour taste. (Note: I only came with a party of two full Asian people) Then, the waiter was unable to answer our questions about the specials and did not give us any water or condiments until we asked but attended to all the needs of the white patrons without question. Even though she said she was new, which is ok, her lack of effort into serving my table, her better treatment of another table after me, and her attitude of not wanting to be there was rather distasteful. I understand that the service industry is hard, but try to provide some decent service. If any excuse is to be made from the owner, remember another party came in 10 minutes later after mines and got friendlier and attentive service due to skin color. The sad thing is: I understand the language they spoke as well, so no lie, it was mad disrespectful. I can speak the full language fluently. I just donât do it when people donât think I understand them. I donât really care in the end, but donât spread the...
Read moreThe Soc Trang restaurant is an authentic Vietnamese hideaway and is as genuine as it gets. Once you have found this wide open establishment on the East side of Springfield, you will know you have made it home. With just a little imagination you can open your eyes and feel like you are in the MeKong delta of Soc Trang, South Vietnam. From the moment you step into the large cozy room of the restaurant you feel like you are in a family gathering. The servers, the front end, even the cooks, and the elder matriarch will greet you with a smile and a gentle bow of their head. I ordered the traditional Vietnamese ravioli, (Goi Cuon) and a fat steaming bowl of beef stew with oxtail and assorted vegetables. The broth was beyond this world !! (because it was from the world of South Vietnam.) All of it was absolutely succulent!! The raviolis were tender and delicious with a lovely peanut sauce accompaniment. My server continued to check on me while I slowly made my way through the stew, and I was completely satiated by the end of the meal. This unique eatery is tucked in off of Sumner Avenue and the main drag, and with a few twists and turns you will find your way to what I consider one of the finest Vietnamese restaurants in all the land. Bring your appetite, and don't forget to bring...
