Family Pizzeria Europa — Restaurant in Springfield

I’ve been coming to Family Pizzeria for years, and even left them a 5-star review over 7 years ago. After a long break since 2020, I finally made it back—and I’m happy to say the place is just as great, if not better, than I remember.

The dining room is clean, cozy, and welcoming with exposed brick, friendly vibes, and plenty of seating. The staff was warm and attentive throughout our visit, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. It was great to see the same sense of family and community I remembered from before.

We started with their tortellini soup and stuffed garlic bread—fresh, hot, and comforting. For entrées, we had the spaghetti and meatballs and the lasagna. Both were flavorful, generous in portion, and served piping hot. The sauce is rich and classic, the kind that sticks with you in a good way.

I’ve been ordering pizza and grinders from them for years. The staff is so friendly and I’d just rather go to a place that seems like they actually care about my customer experience, rather than some of these other spots that make it seem like your inconveniencing them by placing an order. I just ordered a large takeout meal with meatballs, chicken parm (can cut with a fork) white sauce ziti and broccoli and a bunch of other stuff, it was fantastic! I never thought to get party meals from them but, they’re the new spot. The sauce, oh the sauce! Most of the people who came are sensitive to red sauce and ALL of them were surprised they didn’t need a handful of tums after. Would highly recommend to freinds and family. As I was visiting my cousin and we ate at this remarkable restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and totally affordable! 😋 I ordered an eggplant 🍆 and garlic calzone thinking it was going to be a small portion. To my surprise 😮 it was HUGE for only $15!!!! I ate a quarter of it and was so stuffed. I had to get a to-go-container. My family ordered spaghetti 🍝 and large meatballs. They couldn't finish their portions either.

Unfortunately the service was not my cup of tea. Extremely disappointed. I had to bag my own food and wait a considerably long time to be served. Somewhat ignored by the waiter.

I would have given this restaurant a one star or negative zero star rating because of the poor customer service. However, the food was way too good to mess up such greatness! I hope they'll have waitresses with a better quality of service soon. I will definitely do take...
