Ever since my daughter travelled to Madagascar and saw the MBOT orchidarium, she has been obsessed with going to see these botanical gardens - and what a magical experience indeed! 🌸

The entry is architecturally impressive, with helpful staff prepared to assist visitors in purchasing tickets (discounted for those living in the St. Louis area).

Beyond the entry, one easily finds themselves in the Climatron - a climate controlled tropical forest in the Midwest unlike any other. We followed winding trails with surprising pops of impressive reds, blues, and oranges from the glass sculptures of the ongoing Chihuly exhibit. Inside, near the exhibit, there is a cute area for kids to play, and a peace room.

While we did not visit the home gardening exhibit due to time contraints, we meandered through the large Japanese garden, which surrounds a lake and involves many gravel gardens. If one was not at peace before, you are certainly mellowing out at this point of the gardens. Plenty of spaces to relax, feed the koi (small fee for fish food), or play around their spacious open spaces.

The Mediterranean-esque herb garden allures visitors in with mosaics, well maintained beds, and impressive sculptures of Roman mythology. Quite European.

Though the roses are just beginning to bloom, one naturally feels drawn to the nearby garden, which promises fragrant and spicy flowers of an assortment of deep reds, fushia pinks, and sunset oranges.

Beyond the gardens, there are spaces to explore art and history and while we weren’t able to fit this into our visit, we somehow made time for wine on the garden cafe Sassafras’ terrace facing the entrance. Soaking in the sunshine, underneath the white awning, admiring the beautiful pools of water, blooming flowers, and vibrant contrasts of glass sculptures, one feels quite elegant and connected to nature all at once.

We decided to pop in the gift store to pick up a little souvenir, and can assure future visitors that there is something for everyone, and they have been keen to stay on trend especially for Gen Z and millennial audiences alike. Worth a visit :)

Overall, the garden experience was so much better than expected (and expectations were high), MBOT is paving the way for gardens in the US and globally, and it was an...

I recently visited the Missouri Botanical Garden during their Garden Glow event and it was a truly magical experience. The moment I stepped into the garden, I was transported into a world of enchantment and beauty.

The Garden Glow event is an incredible display of thousands of twinkling lights that illuminate the garden in the most spectacular way. Every corner is adorned with colorful lights, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that left me in awe. The attention to detail in the light installations is truly remarkable and it's clear that a lot of effort was put into creating this magical ambiance.

Walking through the garden, I was greeted by a variety of themed displays that were both whimsical and breathtaking. From the dazzling light tunnels that led me to different parts of the garden, to the sparkling light sculptures that depicted various animals and plants, every turn was a delightful surprise. The garden truly comes alive at night during this event, creating a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.

Aside from the enchanting lights, the Missouri Botanical Garden also offers various activities and entertainment during the Garden Glow event. From live music performances to fire pits where you can cozy up and enjoy a warm drink, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The festive atmosphere and lively energy added an extra layer of joy to the overall experience.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Missouri Botanical Garden during their Garden Glow event. It's a truly magical experience that will leave you with lasting memories. The combination of the stunning light displays, festive activities, and warm atmosphere make it a must-see attraction during the...
