Garden Gate Shop — Local services in St. Louis

I don't know who the garden shop thinks they are. Most of the products there are significantly overpriced such as their botanical garden mugs for $15. You have to balance what you think you can get versus how many more you can sell by selling them for less. The selection of books looks pretty on the shelf but when you look at what the titles are there's hardly a book with pictures of the fabulous gardens of the world and though I was only browsing around I never saw one from the botanical garden itself. The children's books were somewhat of a highlight they seem to get down to the basics of gardening with children and were attractive and reasonably priced. There's really no reason for any of the venues in town have baseball caps that cost as much money. They don't cost that much to make. I really don't think the botanical garden baseball cap is something a lot of people would be looking for but if we're price more reasonably they could sell more. Whoever buys for this shop has some good taste! Garden Gate Shop is an excellent place to buy unusual house plants. There's stuff for the kiddos, adult sized clothing, gifts, jewelry, gardening tools, dichroic glass baubles, garden deco, and a rather nice selection of quality wind chimes. Garden Gate is easily one if the finest places around to by books about gardening and plants. I miss the once much larger library section, but let's face it ... people don't read as much as they should. There is a 10% discount for MOBOT members, so this is the place to get seed packets and books ... these purchases alone over the span of a year can make a membership pay for itself! Finally, don't forget to get a few bags of Koi food on your way by headed into the garden; it's much easier to buy it here than paying with quarters at the bridge Koi...

Great botanical gardens gift shop. They have glass plates, glasses, birds and more. Books, artwork and postcards. there are lovely t-shirts and sweatshirts. Jewelry items like necklaces, bracelets and earrings. some items for children. Including chocolate and candy. Oh wait. live orchids and houseplants. I purchased a beautiful light green variegated pothos plant I've never seen before. it looks gorgeous. Support...
