Merryvale Vineyards — Attraction in St. Helena

We had our wedding reception this past May 2019 in Merryvale Winery's incredible Cask Room. It is lined by old giant wine barrels, lit with candles everywhere including giant candleabras on the table, and they can setup a reception table fit for a king and queen. We felt like we were dining in our own castle it was so stunning. The staff were so easy to work with. Casey helped us with the details and it was so simple. They work with a caterer so you don't have to search for one and the service was flawless. The food was incredible especially the short ribs that melted in your mouth and the ravioli with delicious, light, fresh tomato sauce. When someone gave a speech Chantelle magically would immediately turn down the music we were having played through the speaker system...she anticipated every need and we felt cared for every moment. We visited the Merryvale winery in September and the tasting itself was a pleasant experience. The experience was part of a fundraising package we bid on at a charity event. Monique our wine educator was great. We enjoyed one of the wines so much that we purchased it ($265 - NOT cheap) along with a magnum of rose. Here is where the experience went sour grapes. The shipping has been delayed with no resolution in sight. I have been told by the wine club manager that it is stuck with FedEx and he’s “keeping his eye on it.” I am certain by the time the wine arrives it will have been sitting in heat for several days.We have never spent that much on a bottle of wine and I regret ordering from this vineyard because of their dismissive response to numerous inquiries. I highly recommend Merryvale to anyone who is visiting Napa but especially to groups who are considered large parties (6+). I went for my 30th in May and Alison and the whole staff took great care of me. I was put into a bad position by a party planner and Alison was able to turn my terrible situation into a memorable day! The team went above and beyond for my guest and I with perfect outdoor seating, a custom wine tasting menu, and more. The wines were amazing and it was the first Napa wining tasting experience for most in the group and they are still talking about it a month later. It’s across from a popular restaurant and is a overall great location. The facilities are wonderful and perfect for photos and videos. You won’t be disappointed by adding this winery...
