The night before Christmas Eve my boyfriend and I came into this Walgreens off of Chippewa and Hampton around 9:30 at night, and we picked up some junk food and a blu e-cig. The woman at the register probably in her 50s with auburn brown hair (I didn’t catch her name) jokingly said “just getting everything bad for you tonight” and we didn’t think much of it. But when it came to the ID-ing for the blu e-cig her attitude totally changed. I am fortunate enough that haven’t ever witnessed such blatant racism so up close before, but that soon changed. My boyfriend has bought a blu e-cig from this location before, but this time, when he showed his Mexico passport to prove that he was of age she said “We don’t take Mexican”. Let me reiterate- she said, “We don’t take Mexican” as she threw his passport back at him. She hastily that it was corporate’s rule and acted like we somehow triggered her for using something other than a drivers license. She elaborated that they take Canadian and U.S. passports, but not Mexican. I asked if I could use my ID and she said no and immediately called the manager. At this point it was clear that this wasn’t about his age, especially because it’s pretty obvious that he is well over age. When the manager came up to the counter (an older thin white male) quickly confined that this ID was accepted and that there was no issue, and to go ahead with the purchase. This man did not think twice about it and the woman turned to her manager and said “REALLY?!”. This part also really disturbed me, because she was wanted us to walk out with our heads down, embarrassed. After this she giggled across the way with the other older woman with gray hair at the other register who came to take the people behind us in line. I’m sure she was embarrassed, but so were we. I bit my tongue in the moment but it has been weighing heavily on my mind ever since. To see someone who is absolutely doing nothing wrong, being treated so poorly and with such ignorance is unacceptable. We walked out with the items we came to get, but left with a salty taste in our mouths. We won’t be returning to this Walgreens and I encourage other people in this community not to support an establishment that employs someone who exhibits such blatant racism to...
Read moreThere is a pharmacist there who is a white male late 49's early fifties, kinda tall and thin. Bald almost. Anyways I've never had a problem getting my prescriptions filled up to 3 days early because my insurance covers it then. So this rude man even after getting several calls and app notifications that my script was ready to come get it for three days straight he denied giving them to me. I called my Medicaid and they said that is wrong he shouldn't be able to do this. So three days in a row I was told come tomorrow pick it up. I did this 3 times, and was turned away saying too soon come back the next day. Even though the app and their calling app and texts and my insurance said it was approved and ready for pick up. This jerk messed up my plans for his own weird control. I'm looking into filing complaint, maybe even defacement and fraud on him. I believe what he's doing is illegal. My insurance advisor said she does not find this acceptable, and we are switching to a new pharmacy. Not to mention I moved almost an hour away and have been told it's ready three times and wasted my time and gas to there, and back 6 times now. Oh and now it says ready for pick up still but today she couldn't give it to me til the 12th tomorrow. AGAIN jeez. He literally made it that way. His rule only I heard there is only fill controlled substances day of. So explain how the other ones there fill them ahead of time so I don't have to worry about rushing if I'm working or very busy to get my meds that day or I'm out. Very horrible treatment from the Hampton, and Chippewa location. Big fat 00000 stars. Plus made me out to be like I'm trying to get them to soon on purpose like I'm doing something wrong when their app n store is calling, and sending me the refill request and ready to pick up notifications non stop. Okay done with this. Anyone else been treated this way there? I am looking for some back up on other cases similar if I...
Read moreIts terrible, I was told my prescription would be ready at 6, I arrived in the drive thru, waited for maybe 10 min, had 2 cars in front of me, and it is a double drive thru. When I arrived at box, I was informed drive thru is closed and I needed to come in. Then when I get to counter I am informed that one of my prescriptions is ready but I will have to come back tomorrow for the other. So I responded can you transfer the prescription to the location closer to my home. The technician says it will be the same when you get there, you will still have to wait on it. I responded, I understand I need to pick it up tomorrow, but this store isnt close to me, so I would rather go to the location closer to my home, instead of coming back here. So then he says I have the prescription it will be a few minutes while I get it ready. So I asked "if you have the medicine available, how come it wasn't ready when you told me it would be ready?" but now that I think about I realize, I should of asked if you have my medication why would you think it is appropriate to force me to come back here on a different day, when all you had to do was say give me a few minutes while I get your other prescription filled. I truly didn't know if this was bad Walgreens policy or bad customer service, so I just asked for my prescription and to get the other half at the other store. So at the end of my check out, the technician informed me that I would have to just get my medication filled at the other location, and that is when it became clear that I would have to call in a new prescription at the other location. The technician would not transfer over the...
