St. Louis Public Library - Buder Library — Attraction in St. Louis

What I experienced at this location today was very unnecessary. I went in to pay on a company card so our company could get more books because our card was blocked due to lost books (the company i work for is centered around children). Anyways the librarian named James in the front was on the phone with customer service for almost a half hour talking to the SLPL customer service trying to see if I could pay a certain amount on it as if I was lying about what was told to me. He was pretty loud and sounded very accusatory. I thought this was a library so your voice should be low. Not blab my issue outloud so everyone could hear. This was very embarrassing and I hope they get their communication together so their customers wont feel embarrassed...

I had some trouble at the post office trying to submit my passport application—they wouldn’t take me due to being a couple of minutes late. Thankfully, I called the library, and a gentleman named Adam answered. He was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable about the entire passport process.

Not only did he help me, but he also went above and beyond by assisting a couple who only spoke Spanish. I had planned to go in and translate for them, but Adam handled everything so smoothly on his own. He was able to successfully process their paperwork without any issues.

Adam truly made a stressful situation much easier, and I’m so grateful for his professionalism and compassion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars for Adam, and five stars for this...

This library was one of the often requested branches by my young person as they navigated school. I recently visited to renew my library card and was reminded that there will always be unkind emolyees in the world. Though everyone is generally kind here, the woman I encountered recently was rather unkind. So much so that the other family member with me opted to wait for someone different to help them. I just wish people who don't like other people would NOT chose to remain in jobs that require contact with....p-e-o-p-l-e.
