Techmate — Attraction in St. Michael

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Techmate in St. Michael. Spent money to get my phone back replaced after breaking the back glass. After putting money down and told itd be ready to be fixed in 3 to 5 business days I waited, they failed to call me when they didn't order the part for longer then a week because the one person who orders the part wasn't in. When they finally ordered the part, they failed to update me when the part was in. And then after dropping it off multiple times to get it fixed just to by the end of the day I dropped it off on i would get it back not having it fixed because they failed to tell me once they ordered the wrong part, and failed to call me to let me know they wouldn't be able to get to it done (when I had an apt. To get it fixed that day) I finally after a month got it fixed with a product that was plastic... bare in mind when I broke it I broke GLASS. they told me the replacement was more structured and would last longer... it failed to hold up for a week... I hadn't dropped it nothing if I had I would take the blame... when I called them to inform them and see what can be done they basically refused to do anything.... so not only did I wait longer then a week like it was supposed to, It became an inconvenience to me when I had to go in or call multiple times to get an update, I got a product that didn't hold up to its name but they made things up to help I support small...

Your typical greedy company that possesses ZERO critical thinking, and because they have no confidence in their staffs decision making skills they implement blanket "idiotproof" policies like, "we card everyone under the age of 80 for tobacco products."

They will not install user bought parts because they claim its a liability, but in reality its because they want to increase their profits by upcharging you on the same parts you can order.

All they need to do is have you sign a waiver that releases them of all liability and acknowledge that there will be no warranty if they install your parts.

Problem solved, angry customer avoided and they still get to charge labor.

Unfortunately these clowns are still operating under 2008 parameters, but I'm glad these 2nd grade drop outs don't like money because DEVICE PIT STOP is wonderful!!!

Night and day compared to this second rate hack shop. If you need computer components repair go to Device Pit Stop in Maple Grove. They fixed my laptops shattered touchscreen with the part I bought off of Ebay for $100 flat in under an hour, and didn't ask any questions or make a fuss about it. I brought my water damaged phone into techmate on the 23rd of December. They told me they'd look at it and call me the next day. Which was Christmas Eve, and I never got a call. Which I understood because it was Christmas, then on the 26th, still heard nothing so I decided to stop in and find out why I hadn't been called. They told me they put it in a "thirsty bag" to take out the water for 72 hours, which I totally understood, but they never told me they were going to do that, and I expected a call. Then they told me they'd look at it the next day and call me. Another 4 days later, no call. I stopped in one more time and they told me they had Forgotten about it! So they convinced me to leave it there again, and my dad wasn't happy about it and took the phone,home disassembled. Just now, about a week later, i received a follow up email from them, basically telling me that we were "grumpy" with how long the process was taking, and that the experience with us, caused them to no longer take water damaged phones.
