My daughter had her wedding reception at the Botanical Garden after having her wedding at Sweetheart Circle. The site is perfect for a reception and I've been to a wedding there in the past. It is truly beautiful. There is also a wonderful little cottage that used to belong to Dan Bland who donated the site to GSU for the Garden. It is s perfect place for a bride and bridesmaids to ready themselves for a wedding.

The major problem we had was with a very rude employee who stopped the bride's photography session to complain that we had asked people who were wandering around the garden to leave. The garden had been rented by the bride for 12 hours to use and there were signs posted indicating a private party. We had valuables that were to be protected. Anyway, it turned out that the trespassers were actually 2 staff people and 2 donors (who were not together) who did not identify themselves as staff or donors. The garden employees did not notify the bride that a couple of visitors would be present. If they had, all would have been well. The exchange ended with the rude employee (who would not stop saying the danger thing over and over) being screamed at by an overwhelmed bride who burst into tears in the middle of her photo shoot. His behavior was deplorable, but the garden was beautiful.

The rest of the reception went well and everyone had a great time. The staff cleaned up on time and the evening ended on...

The Botanical Garden is an absolute gem and an extraordinary escape into nature's beauty! With an admission cost of just $5, it offers an affordable yet enriching experience that is worth every penny. The convenience of paying via QR code or cash adds to the seamless entry process.

Every corner of this splendid garden is shrouded in love and care, reflecting the dedication and passion of those who maintain it. From the vibrant flower beds to the meticulously groomed pathways, it's evident that the garden is nurtured with the utmost attention to detail. The serene environment provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation, meditation, or simply enjoying the tranquil beauty of nature.

One minor downside is that the garden is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which can be a bit disappointing for weekend visitors. However, this slight inconvenience is likely due to private events, ensuring the garden remains a pristine and exclusive venue for special occasions.

Despite this, the Botanical Garden is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a peaceful and breathtaking natural retreat during the weekdays. Whether you're a plant enthusiast or just looking for a beautiful place to unwind, this garden will exceed your expectations and leave you feeling rejuvenated...

My daughter’s class had a field trip there this past week. Very beautiful place and very clean. But I wasn’t to please with the man that lead our group of kids. He was rude and had no patience with the children. We left early because of him getting close to a child’s face telling them they “WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION” he didn’t use kind words. 6-7 year olds being excited and talking is normal. Asking to “use listening ears” or “eyes on me let’s try to listen” would be much nicer than flat out telling them to “hush let me talk” or “I’m talking yall let me talk first”. He ignored children having their hands up to ask questions. He just really ruined it for most of us parents. Other than that, the place is nice. Just without him or the older lady that treated us parents like we...

Best botanical garden in Georgia per aperture!! This old Bland Farm, where in the early 1980s James in his 70s introduced me to his Uncle Dan in his 90s and we picked pears, looked at arrowheads, talked shop and where i got married in the 00s, is expertly and excellently curated and is showcase for early education inspiring a love of nature which inspires a love of learning. As foreign languages are an imprint of ecological experiences, I've taught those as a window to the language of nature seen and observed and learned to be loved in gardens such as this one. The Bland family legacy continues through new gardeneers, bioneers, and ecologists. #Permaculture #UrbanFarming #SyntropicForestry 🌻🐝👩🏽‍🌾🌳🏘

There was a lot more there than I expected! Many things were blooming, although it was Fall. I am looking forward to future trips when more is in season. I loved seeing all the butterflies. Some paths are paved and there are also natural paths throughout the wooded areas of the property. Information signs were everywhere to provide details of plants, trees, the property and about farm life. You can tour the Bland's house to see how they lived. A lot of care has been given to the property. I will certainly return. Click on my name to access my reviews of other gardens and more
