I used to like hobby lobby but lately it seems I get treated like complete crap whenever I go in, especially by the women (most of the store), and especially if they are younger.
I came in to return something with the intent to get something different.
I came in the front door, and instantly got a dirty look from every cashier. There was only one cashier actually at her register though.
I got in line to return my item and a particular young female looked over at me, turned her head, and kept talking with another associate. The only one working and not just standing around there was the woman working the lane I was in.
I waited patiently, and then a woman from outside came in. The same young female that looked at me and looked away told her "if you have a return i can help you"
Of course I wasn't happy I had been ignored and suddenly, gee golly willikers, for some supernatural reason this lady decided to help another female instead. We all know what that's about. I looked up and the you female that had been looking away and took this other incoming womans return was looking right at me with a guilty look. As soon as our eyes met she looked away.
She helped the female customer and then WALKED AWAY from her register again, leaving me there in the line I had been in the whole time...not even offering to help me.
I am tired of this treatment I get every time I visit just because I am a male in a craft store and for some pansy reason the young women don't want to help me and just avoid me and give me dirty looks instead.
I WILL NOT...
Read moreI adore Hobby Lobby. They carry things that cannot be found elsewhere and their prices are fair, especially considering the regular sales they have. All that said, I love a company who knows that there are bigger and more important things in life than our desire to consume various products. God Bless Hobby Lobby.
Edited for accuracy: Today 8/25/21 I shopped here. Of the four items I wanted to purchase two were part of the advertised flyer sale. They charged me full price for both at the register. Another was fabric yardage - I had asked for half a yard and was given half a yard but the ticket said it was a full yard so they attempted to charge me for a full yard but I caught the mistake in time so I asked the manager to make the adjustment but she said that was not her job so I refused the cut yardage. The fourth and last item was properly charged only because I had to point out the proper price. So this is the bottom line. Of four items they were going to overcharge for three. Apparently the new motto is "Watch us really carefully or we'll rob you while you think you're getting sale prices"....
Read moreI like to dress up my gift wrapping ideas so this store is a wonderful artsy outlet for me. Every year I get a big watermelon for my niece on her birthday; she loves watermelon. I get all kinds of ideas as to how to dress my watermelon by visiting Hobby Lobby.
I also enjoy making jewelry and they have a very large selection of beads, strings, findings, everything you need to make necklaces, earrings, etc.
They have a very nice selection of t-shirts that you can wear as is or can add patches, etc.
There are cards, boxes, wrapping paper, sewing, markers, artificial flowers, you name it, they have it.
They have 2 wheelchairs up front but you will need someone to push you; sorry no electric chairs.
The lines can be long at times and they could use a bit tidying up here and there but the people are great and I enjoy listening to the soothing, inspirational music that they play in-store.
I am very upset that the city of Sterling Heights decided to put up an oversized apartment complex smack dab in the middle of a parking lot. This obtuse mess blocks the view of Hobby Lobby...
