The overall rating for the museum complex is much higher, but as an individual choice at this particular building... mistakes were made and a low-star review is required.
The facility itself is pleasant. Clean, cool on hot day and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The main detriment: Oceanus. As the major display of this small museum space, this was a poor choice. The theme is understandable enough, art (including a huge mural) depicting local ocean biomes and the ships that navigated out of the area throughout the seaport's history... but the art itself was downright cringeworthy.
It's reminiscent of a monied somebody commissioning a piece from a popular artist, having delivered a poor and amateurish product, but putting it on display anyway as they spent so much money on it. It's just not good art.
Hopefully, the management here will make better choices in the future with the "art" they...
