We came to Gondola Sky-ride expecting a nice Sky-ride but we instead we didnât even get to go on the ride. We saw a long line of people and asked around what it was and was told that this was the line to go on the ride. We then asked the security lady who was standing guarding the door about our tickets that we bought online (pre-ordered). We had already bought our tickets long ago and the lady told us that if we have our tickets online you can just head to the long line where these people are standing. We said thank you and headed back to the end of the line and waited. We waited for 30 minutes and looked around and saw signs such as: âestimated wait time isâ, and âonline ticketsâ. It was almost our turn and we then head over to the woman from before and she said please have your tickets out so I can see them so we handed her the ticket on the phone and she said we needed the physical ticket copy. We all stood there like what? Nobody told us we needed the physical copy. Then she goes there are no more tickets so you have to go get a refund. Mind you this is the same lady who told us to line up in the beginning. We were trying to tell the lady that we already had our tickets but she wouldnât listen. If we didnât have the physical copies we had to leave and come back the next day or get a refund. We told the lady that we were not informed about any physical copies and there were also no signs telling us that we needed physical copies. Some other security guard lady comes over and starts asking whatâs going on and we told her that we had tickets but we canât go in. She says the same thing the other lady told us and we said no and sheâs like okay then you can leave⌠she starts telling us she doesnât care what we have to say and that we came on the busiest day of the year.. We came on a Sunday. A day before Columbus Day how is that the busiest day of the year?? She then goes on about how there isnât anything to do and itâs not even that great up top. Youâre working here why would you say that to customers are you trying to lose face? First of all you guys are a business you should have your stuff organized. You are supposed to stay on top of whether you have enough occupancy for the people who are visiting but you didnât which was so disorganized of you guys. It is your problem if youâre over sold. Second of all how does one run out of physical copies of tickets? Donât you guys have printers? Youâre supposed to be stay on top of that. We headed over to the front desk lady and we told her about our situation and she told us okay and? We already waited in line for so long and we canât even get tickets anymore because they ran out. The front desk lady said we can only get a refund. We told her that everyone here wasnât specific and how there wasnât any signs. Everyone was so rude for no reason and was giving so much attitude. I would give this place a better review but our experience here was already enough to give this 2 stars. Iâm only giving it 2 stars because the view while...
Read moreâAn Egregious Disservice Marred by Deplorable Attitudes and Exorbitant Costs"
My recent sojourn aboard the gondola skyride, regrettably, was nothing short of a profound travesty, punctuated by a litany of disconcerting inadequacies that marred the entire experience. To compound these issues, the exorbitant costs associated with this endeavor only added insult to injury.
Foremost, the embarkation process was marred by an exasperating lack of streamlined efficiency, leading to interminable delays that tested the patience of even the most stoic of patrons. This lamentable lack of orchestration within the precincts of a venerable attraction bespeaks an alarming dearth of logistical prowess.
Furthermore, the gondolas, once ensconced within, betrayed an alarming paucity of meticulous upkeep, casting an inescapable pall over the aesthetics and the operational integrity of this endeavor. The air of neglect was palpable, and it lent an air of desuetude to the entire affair.
Yet, it is with an even heavier heart that I must report on the deplorable attitudes exhibited by the employees. Their disposition was nothing short of disdainful, displaying a disconcerting lack of courtesy and professionalism. This inexcusable behavior further soured the already bitter taste left by the gondola skyride experience.
To make matters worse, the exorbitant pricing for this lackluster excursion bordered on the offensive. The cost did not align with the dismal quality of the experience, rendering it an egregiously overpriced affair.
One is compelled to earnestly implore the custodians of this establishment to heed these vociferous remonstrances and, in a display of sagacious discernment, allocate substantive resources towards effecting salient ameliorations. Only through an infusion of fastidious attention to the minutiae, a categorical overhaul of the organizational ethos, and a stringent regimen of employee training, alongside a substantial reevaluation of pricing, can the gondola skyride aspire to transcend its current state of...
Read moreA very enjoyable ride with great views. The price is a bit steep at $37 but worth a unique experience. Depending on the time of day and year, wait times can be as long as an hour. Bathroom facilities consist of port-a-pottys but there are proper facilites at the top of the mountain.
If you plan to have a meal at the restaurant at the top of the mountain be sure to make a reservation. When we arrived mid-day, all reservation has been taken. There is also a wait time to load the gondola for the trip down.
The gondola is fully enclosed but not heated. Remember to add a warm layer because it will be much colder and windier at the top.
There is also a smaller gondola next to the mountain gondola that takes you to the ski village. This gondola is free and had no wait time. We spent an hour exploring the village and lodge. There are many dining and shopping opportunities in the village.
The drive to the lodge on Route 108 is amazing, but not for the faint of heart. The larger your vehicle the more skill that will be needed to navigate the narrow road and blind turns. Drivers park along the road further complicating difficult/bling turns.
I love the challenge but it freaks out my partner. Leaving the lodge, don't backtrack down 108 unless you really want to. There is a an easy travel option into Stowe if you take a left out...
