World's Largest Cuckoo Clock — Attraction in Sugarcreek

I have loved this clock since I was a small child going on adventures with my mother and aunts in Amish country. It used to be held in a restaurant beside a cheese factory when I was little. Unfortunately the steps were rickety and it wasn't safe so the cuckoo clock was then purchased, restored, and moved to Sugar Creek. The cuckoo clock goes off every hour and half hour. It is for sure a sight to see. Unfortunately not all the parts work as they used to even after being restored but for it's age and the fact that it has with stood Ohio weather for many many years I feel it's allowed to have it's issues. If you manage to catch the clock inbetween it's performances there are several shops to check out that have very unique stalk. Here's to your adventures to the World's Largest...

"Featured on the cover of the Guinness Book of World Records in 1977, the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock is located in the center of Swiss Village in Sugarcreek. The clock is over 23 feet tall and 24 feet wide. Every half hour, a cuckoo bird pops out and then you hear Swiss polka music playing as the band emerges and a couple dances."

I drove about an hour to see this clock, and wasn't disappointed, in combination with the near by area and shops. I did expect a little more, as the display is short lived and a little less of a spectacle then I imagined, but, neat, nonetheless.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but let's just say the outcome was an unforgettable experience! Standing tall and proud on the corner of the street was this " giant cuckoo clock' that on the one hour and half hour gives its audience a show. My family thought that it was ehem... hilarious. But we're quickly shushed by serious crowd of what I could only assume was Cuckoo enthusiasts??. - WHOOPS. The eccentric shopp next the clock was GREAT! There was so many items I wanted. The two men running the place were down to earth and helpful.
