Escape Alley Summerville Escape Rooms — Attraction in Summerville

We've done over 30 escape rooms across North and South Carolina, and this is hands down the worst place we've been to. The lobby looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a week, nearly every prop was damaged. Items that you needed to solve puzzles were marked with the same stickers as things you should leave alone. The GM was nice when we arrived, but when we started having issues with a broken puzzle it took a long time to get a response, and the clue was just the solution because they knew the puzzle didn't work (found that out after the game). Got to another part where something was wrong and ended up spending the last 20 minutes trying to a get some direction and getting clues back that had nothing to do with the puzzle we were on. My husband and i go for the arcade occasionally, alot has changed at stars and strikes over the years. I used to work at one of their locations, and all the prices have gone up (understandable as everything has gone up in price), but now they charge for a new game card on top of the points you add to it. Several of the games are shut completely off because they don't work, and most of the time it's hard to find an employee, and it's not because they are out cleaning games or the arcade.... when I worked there any downtime we had we were supposed to be cleaning games or stocking the prize area, but these employees just seem to be standing around talking, sad to see their standards have...

Go elsewhere! Broken clues, illegible codes, one of the clue areas opened out of order without even needing the key we found later. If you’ve done escape rooms, you know the order can matter- so that was a bit confusing. We had the correct code for the lock but it was stuck - said out loud and waved to the camera multiple times, didn’t get specific assistance until we had used 2 clues that were things we already solved and wasted 15 minutes.
