If you're looking for a place to sit and coffee clutch with your friends all day while you don't watch your feral, rude children at all in a place that smells like it's never had a window opened in its existence, then this is the place for you. There's nowhere near enough parking, it's very loud, it's small, and there's not much to do. My seven year old was done here in an hour. It was a free for all. My son was trying to build stuff at a couple different "exhibits", and other children literally just took what he was doing and walked away to use it. Like he's actively building, of a piece in, and someone snatched it. This happened at 4 different things. Children running, screaming, throwing things. Parents sitting in a group talking, ignoring the bad behavior. I was the only parent without a drink in my hand. Not sure why they get so dehydrated from not parenting, but apparently they need coffee or water continuously. I want to add that my son is the youngest of 4. I'm not a helicopter parent. This place was just chocked full of rude, lazy parents. And it smells like a gym. I won't return, and I won't recommend it to people. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because if there were real parents and children with morals and manners, it would have been an ok place to spend an hour. It is, however, not a museum. This is...
Read moreIt is fun and cute, but small. But the 1 star rating is because while my kids did like what it has, it was not a good experience, and I really want this feedback to be taken into account so the museum can improve and be more enjoyable.
So, there was a party, not a problem with that, but the ratio was like 3 adults per kid in that party, adults who were not even watching the kids, they were talking among themselves very loud, one had an unleashed dog inside the museum, which was barking to the other kids playing. And because adults were not watching the kids, they were all over the place, like a 10 year old with shoes on playing on the sprout space. They were running everywhere and leaving everything on the floor. And the people at the front desk were not doing anything about it. The girl occasionally came to pick up stuff, but the guy was in his phone all the time.
So my kids were not able to enjoy the museum. $8 per person didn't seem worth it.
If you are going to have parties, make the people in the party behave and let the museum be enjoyed by other guests, or close it and let the people in the party do...
Read moreI Think, From the looks of the parking lot and front of the building it is trash, and parking lot potholes, the building would look deserted if not for Subway restaurant next door. The city council is meeting soon regarding this "museum"? Museums are the history and art of a city or location. It seems to be another playland being called a museum. The children's museum in Detroit actually had cobblestone streets within and store fronts of each era of the city. It was a Museum for learning history not playtime, and made it easy for children to understand what came before and brought them to the present without any underlying motives. It is my hope children here understand what created Sun Prairie and the people that created it, history is very important and museums must promote this for learning why Sun Prairie is still growing? Agriculture, manufacturing and the founding fathers, again History Children Museum. Not Another PlayHaven to drop off the kids so parents can have someone else entertain...
