The Grove Kosher Market — Attraction in Surfside

Truly a shame that this is the only Kosher grocery store in the Bal Harbor/Surfside/Bay Harbor area and is run so horribly. Most of the items on the shelves ring up over priced (This has happened to multiple people in our community on a regular basis). They recently opened up more prepared food sections and yet nothing runs smoothly or in an orderly system. Not to mention there is usually only 1 register (if you are lucky 2) open in addition to self-checkout which is not feasible for a larger shopping. The cashiers have no idea how to bag groceries properly. Today, they put fresh warm bread in the bag with all the cold chicken I bought and the fresh baked donuts in the bag that had all frozen items. Management is needed because clearly there is none. I purchased beef stir fry Friday afternoon- it looked fairly decent. I get home and opened the container, to have a taste of it- and my nose is overcome with a rancid beef smell.

Items on the pre packed shabbos salads refrigerator don’t have prices on them so you don’t know what you’re paying till you’re at the register. (Wonder if this is a violation of supermarket code)

The staff is nice as can be, even as they see the customers are being ripped off.

I called the store from home and the phone wasn’t answered. I threw away the receipt and here I am posting this to forewarn others. Wow this store is your best go to store all in 1 shopping experience. The staff are very nice and genuinely helpful and friendly. Grove has made our stay at surfside over shabbos very easy and we are grateful. All the food is FRESH can't express the freshness of all items especially sushi which we bought daily because it was fresh and delicious. The sandwiches salads were delicious. We shopped here for our needs no need to go anywhere else trust me. Once again thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication effort you put in daily to make sure you are delivering delicious fresh food.
