We recently discovered LBU Saigon, and wow—what a hidden gem! Their bánh cuốn, a traditional Vietnamese dish made of delicate steamed rice rolls typically filled with seasoned pork and mushrooms, is absolutely fantastic here.
The rice wrapper was perfectly done—fresh, soft, and just the right thickness and texture. It came with crisp bean sprouts, a flavorful fish sauce for dipping, and a side of nem chua (a tangy, fermented pork). We originally ordered just one portion to try, but after the first bite, we immediately went back and ordered more to enjoy that same evening. That should tell you everything you need to know!
We also tried several of their other dishes, including the banana fritters, pho beef rolls, and bánh tiêu—and every single one was excellent. The bánh tiêu (Vietnamese hollow fried dough) was especially memorable, as it's uniquely served with a sesame seed and durian dipping sauce that takes the flavor to the next level. It’s a creative and delicious twist that really stands out.
Fantastic food and fantastic service. If you’re even slightly curious about this place—don’t hesitate. You...
Read moreI heard about this restaurant through word of mouth even before it was officially opened. I’ve placed several takeout orders the past few weekends because their weekend specials change weekly and I want to try them all. They have the best Vietnamese steamed rice crepes (bánh cuốn). The meat is perfectly seasoned, and the rice crepes are fresh and paper-thin - not to mention the generous portions. Their weekend soup special is spot on - just like the traditional soups I remember from my childhood in VN. You can tell it was made by a dad who’s truly passionate about VN cooking; the rich broth speaks for itself. My sister and I adored Trang (the daughter). She provides impeccable service. She was warm, genuinely friendly, and very attentive. I highly recommend LBU Saigon to anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, delicious food, and wonderful service. Be prepared to wait in line - but it’s...
Read moreSaigon Fresh Noodles is my go to spot for authentic Vietnamese food, the kind that tastes just like home. Every time I come here, I have to get my favorites: bánh tầm bì chay, bánh cuốn nhân thịt The bánh tầm bì chay is amazing the noodles are perfectly soft, and the combination of fried tofu and creamy coconut sauce is comforting and full of flavor. It’s a great vegetarian option that doesn’t feel like you're missing out at all. The bánh cuốn nhân thịt is light, savory, and topped with fried shallots and fresh herbs. The filling is seasoned just right, and it pairs so well with the nước mắm and you're set. The food is consistently fresh, and you can tell they really care about quality and tradition here. Sold out fast, call them before you come. Every weekend they might switch the main meal so check if you like what they have at the time before you come in. ...
