great park for overview look, relaxation, or a picnic! you will miss the entrance to this place. there is not a dedicated turn lane on either side of the road. gps will tell you to go through the neighborhood- do not do that- there is no parking there. the red stone area is where you park for the park. the boardwalk is wheelchair accessible in both directions. there is seating along the boardwalk. there are three picnic tables- only one of them is wheelchair accessible. there are two places with free overlook binoculars. there appears to be lighting along the walkway, but since I went in the day time, I'm not sure if they work. there are fun fact descriptions along with boardwalk. there are garbage cans, no recycling cans....
Read moreThis little park is right in Swansboro on the water and says public water access but really just looks to be more of a short boardwalk and some little interpretation signs. It looks like the boardwalk has not been repaired in a little while and there are some boards that are curled up and present a trip hazard so be careful of that. Other than that it's a great place when you're already driving a lot of miles just to stop for a second, stretch your legs, and see what there is to see on the water which is always a beautiful view there. Of course Swansboro is lovely little town with cute restaurants and stuff right there across the street in the downtown...
