FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery — Attraction in Tallahassee

The Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery, located on the historic Florida A&M University (FAMU) campus, is a unique and remarkable arts center that serves as a valuable resource for students, faculty and community members. An alumni to the FAMU Fine Arts program, the Foster Tanner Fine Arts Gallery hosted my senior art exhibition, and both the track lighting and natural lighting (provided by the spacious windows) illuminated my work, giving each piece an enhanced aesthetic appeal. I was also able to host a Visual Arts showcase to consist of wall art, body art, spoken word poetry and a live jazz band. Over the past two academic years, I have used the FAMU Art Gallery to help students find their voice, using art-based learning to create their Poster Presentations to debrief their summer internship experience. Taking the students to the Art Gallery, was the day, I taught outside the classroom. Foster Tanner is a lovely two-story exhibition space. They offer a variety of interesting art shows throughout the year. Patrons may see nationally recognized artists, the artworks of important collectors, or the work of graduating artists. One exhibition held annually is “Pinnacle, a Nationally Juried Exhibition.” The staff at Foster Tanner are friendly and informative.
