We came here Saturday for a late lunch. we entered through the first door that’s on the left side of the building and stood there for a few minutes while Work passed us and we are waiting to be seated a few minutes. I realized that the hostess was on the other side of the restaurant so we walked over there. It would’ve been nice if someone would’ve told us to walk in that direction or for there to be a sign. The restaurant was packed rightfully so as this has quickly become very popular- the interior is very aesthetically, pleasing very cute and stylish! Unfortunately, that’s where it all ended for us. We placed an order for two appetizers, two burgers and a chicken sandwich and it took exactly an hour for our appetizers to come in. I was actually walking out the door when a server brought us the appetizers because our toddler had gotten so fussy and just couldn’t wait anymore. We were ready to leave. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait. The presentation of the oysters was probably the most disappointing I’ve ever seen for fried oyster plate and there’s nothing positive to say about the taste of flavor. The breakfast sliders also our lackluster nothing special. My husband and brother like their burgers, but also at that point I think when you’re hungry anything will taste good- right? My chicken sandwich was okay Yeah but I felt like it needed another sauce. The bread was also burned which is disappointing since we waited so long I expected everything to come out perfect. I was pretty disappointed as I was really looking forward to love this place. I had been told by a friend that she had heard mixed reviews and now I understand why management definitely needs to get organized because waiting over an hour for appetizers isn’t acceptable…

I recently celebrated my 45th birthday at The Monroe, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and perfect for a special occasion. Our bartender, Brandon, truly elevated our evening. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft, sharing fascinating stories about different drinks and expertly crafting unique cocktails. He recommended a banana Sazerac that was a revelation – like a sophisticated Old Fashioned with a delicious twist. The food was equally impressive. I had the ricotta-stuffed agnolotti, and it was absolutely delicious. But beyond the food and drinks, it was Brandon's attentiveness and genuine hospitality that made my birthday celebration so memorable. He engaged us in conversation, made us feel welcome, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend The Monroe to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Tallahassee. The combination of delicious food, creative cocktails, and outstanding service, especially from Brandon, makes it a must-visit. I can't wait to return next time I'm in town!

The Monroe satisfies the need for something I didn't even know I was looking for in Tallahassee. If every experience mirrors our first visit, The Monroe will quickly become my favorite restaurant. It's gorgeous inside and out, with trendy decor and comfortable seating. The patio is the best outdoor dining space I've ever seen in Tally. The food is decadent and reasonably priced. The shared plates and half-size orders of the larger dishes are perfectly sized for those who love tapas-style dining. The highlight of our night was our server, Jay. I served tables for years and Jay's vivid description of each dish we asked about put my past serving spiels to shame. You could practically taste each dish as he talked about it. His recommendations were all spot-on, from the main dishes to the wine to our dessert. Everything was timed perfectly. Our visit was a truly wonderful experience, and we'll certainly be back for more.

Favorite “date night” location. We attended the “gin release party” and had a blast.

The vibe and ambiance is amazing. The food is more along the side of fine dining. I had the lobster bucatini. It was okay. Food really isn’t as seasoned as it could be. My family had the ribeye and the Nashville hot chicken. The steak was cooked well but again the seasoning lacked and the Nashville chicken was not your typical Nashville hot. The greens were a no for me as well. I also had a heatwave drink it was good. Overall it’s good for drinks and vibes.

The ambiance was nice. Lovely outdoor spot with little fans on each table. This was a pleasant surprise because this Florida heat is not for the faint at heart. Everything was visually pleasing. The customer service was top-notch! However, no one had anything good to say about the food. The cucumber salad 🥗 was bland, no zest, no piazza, not even a flavor of sea salt and cracked pepper 😢 my friends' pastas were not al dente just hard, dry and flavorless, Not even sauced or spiced. The drinks were cute and weak. If they get a killer happy hour and add more shareable, flavorful bites, this would be the next 😎 cool kids' 80s/70s/90s babies stop. A lot of potential. I asked about the kitchen, and the head chief had left for the evening, so maybe that's why the food was subpar. Give it a try and drop a comment.
