I was given this fish with all its fins still on after I had already paid. I asked the server if they could remove the fins, and she checked with another staff member. Unfortunately, his response was that they don’t offer that service. I’m really disappointed with the service here. I recently switched from the seafood market on Capital Circle to this one because it’s closer to home. But at the previous market, they always cleaned the fish properly and removed the fins without issue. This will be my last time shopping here. Thank you for the owner’s reply and the offer—I do appreciate the gesture. But I want to clarify what actually happened, because the explanation given was not accurate. When I first asked for the fins to be removed, the male associate immediately said, “We don’t cut fins off.” I asked again and mentioned that another seafood market always does it, but he repeated, “We don’t do that.” The female associate stood next to him the whole time. So this wasn’t a misunderstanding—he never thought I was asking to remove bones. Also, just to be clear—who buys a fish known for its bones and then asks to have all the bones removed? That wouldn’t make sense. I’m not asking for anything and I won’t be picking up the offer. I’m only replying because the explanation wasn’t honest about what really happened. It’s important to represent customer interactions truthfully—that’s the only reason I updated this review.

Yum. Have been here a few times. This is a great seafood market with an array of fresh fish and seafood. On April 10th, we bought a pound of claw crabmeat, some jumbo shrimp and 5 lbs. of boiled crawfish from Louisiana. The service is always helpful and friendly. Talk about good! The crawfish was delicious and devoured quickly. I made a baked crab with sauteed onions etc. topped with a crispy bread crumb topping. Yum. Then we made a take on New Orleans "Barbecue" Shrimp. Lots of sauce to sop up with french bread. Love this place.

My son wanted a low country boil for FSU’s Bowl game and wanted crawfish in it. I called and was told he had some coming in on the truck the next day. We went the following day around noon but their truck hadn’t made it in yet. The young lady offered to call me when the truck arrived. She called and I went and purchased all the seafood and seasonings. Seafood was wonderful as was the customer service! This was our first visit to Southern Seafood. We will be back!!

My husband called this store at 11 am on July 2, 2021 and placed an order of 1 sockeye Salmon Filet and 2 filets of Triple Tail.

As my husband was asking for this order to be placed, the worker begin to discourage him from acing the order because the worker said to my husband, "What if you dont come get the fish then we are out of our money".

My husband explained to the worker that we just moved here and we live in Eastpoint, FL which is nearly 2 hours away one way and he is an handicapped Vet and do not drive. My husband explained that I would pick up the order on my way home from work in Tallahassee.

The worker then said, well my cutter leaves at 5 pm so you will have to get here before they leave. The worker finally took the order and gave his mame. I arrived at the store around 5 :30 pm and went in and i was told there was no order for Kev and not only that, they were out of Sockeye and Triple Tail.

I understand this is a very small country town, but all was needed to address this worker's concerns were required a pre payment at the time the order was placed.

Absolutely no reason a customer should not be able to call in an order at a fish market. Not every customer is retired or is a stay at home mother or wife with the spare time to make a nearly 4 hour trip just to eat healthy fish!!

To add insult to injury, on their website they advertise home delivery for a pre paid fee and delivery fee. On this same website they advertise pre paid curbside pick up.

Please explain to us the difference in pre paying for a home delivery and pre paying for a curbside and pre paying to physically walk into your store and pick up a fish order??

To force a customer to drive to your store thinking there is an order placed when in fact the employee decided NOT to fill the very order he told my husband they would fill is 100%DISRESPECTFUL, HORRIBLE customer service and down right affronting on every level.

With this type of horrible customer service we would rather buy outdated frozen fish from Publix before we return to this fish store!

This is EXTREMELY sad also because- we are Pescatarians and fish is our main food source and this place has the FRESHEST fish in Tallahassee. This place has a selection that we couldnt find even in a huge city like Chicago.

It hurts our soul to know Southern Seafood doesnt truly care about their customers!! We thought we had found the BEST fish market in Florida hands down.

We have only seen one fish market carry more fish species, top notch FRESHNESS simply beautiful fish and that is Pike Place in Seattle.

Be as it may, please put in place some corrective measures that will prevent this from happening again. Please keep in mind, you are NOT in business because you are smart or found a great location.

You can pay your employees and pay your bills SOLELY because we the customer hand over our hard earned funds to your company each and...

Good morning, I rarely complain about the service I received from vendors because they are not the owners, but this morning I called SOUTHERN SEAFOOD in TALLAHASSEE to order 2 cases of SNOW CRABS, AT $ 330.00 each but the gentleman that I spoke with TWICE was completely RUDE & And DISRESPECTFUL, not to mention that I buy my GROUPER THERE EVERY TUESDAY and average of #6. This Is why good business go belly up. The gentleman had no idea, or did not care that this conversation probably will end my choice of driving 30 miles to make purchases.

Thanks First I would like to apologize, to the staff at southern seafood , this morning I was not professional myself and gave an rating that was unfair because of my personal situation, I am also apologing to the gentleman, because I don't know what kind of morning he was going...
