Nestled conveniently near I-10, Little Paris in Tallahassee is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience for lovers of French cuisine.
Stepping inside, we found ourselves in a simple yet elegant interior, tastefully decorated with elements that exuded a Parisian flair. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind and savor the flavors of France.
To kick off our gastronomic journey, we opted for the House Salad and French Onion Gratinee as appetizers. The House Salad was a refreshing delight, featuring a vibrant mix of fresh greens, cherry tomatoes, and a tangy vinaigrette dressing. It set the stage for the rest of the meal and left our taste buds eager for more.
The French Onion Gratinee was a true standout. The rich, comforting flavors of the perfectly caramelized onions melded perfectly with the gooey melted cheese on top. Each spoonful was a symphony of tastes that transported us straight to a quaint bistro in Paris.
For the main course, we indulged in Ratatouille, Seafood Crepe, Beef Bourguignon, and Croque Monsieur. The Ratatouille was a delightful vegetable medley, expertly prepared with tender eggplant, zucchini, peppers, and tomatoes. It was evident that the chef's expertise shone through in every forkful.
The Seafood Crepe was a revelation of flavors. The thin crepe enveloped a delightful mix of succulent shrimp, and other seafood all bathed in a delectable sauce that left us craving more. It was very good, almost perfect, although the crepe itself was ever so slightly cooked a bit too long.
The Beef Bourguignon was undoubtedly the star of the show. The tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef was simmered to perfection in a rich red wine sauce, accompanied by a medley of onions, mushrooms, and carrots. It was a symphony of savory goodness that left us completely satiated.
The Croque Monsieur, a classic French sandwich, was equally impressive. The combination of ham, cheese, and bechamel sauce between two slices of perfectly toasted bread was a delightful treat that we savored until the last bite.
To conclude our meal, we couldn't resist trying the Vanilla Creme Brûlée, and it did not disappoint. The smooth and creamy custard, accented with the tantalizing crunch of caramelized sugar on top, with a sliced strawberry, was a heavenly dessert that left us in dessert paradise.
Accompanying our desserts was a well-crafted Cappuccino, the perfect ending to our fantastic dining experience. The warm and aromatic beverage complemented the sweet notes of the Creme Brûlée impeccably.
Throughout the meal, we couldn't help but notice the fresh and high-quality ingredients used in every dish. The attention to detail in preparation and presentation was evident, elevating the dining experience to a truly remarkable level.

My wife and I decided to try this place for our wedding anniversary. First impressions were good, the waitress was very nice and attentive. I asked the waitress if the wheat icon on the menu indicated Gluten Free (GF), and she confirmed it did. We then discussed that I have celiac, and asked for her suggestions for my dietary restrictions. We decided to get the Escargot Vol au Vent, the Chef's Fish Plate, and the Pork Chop, as well as a glass of wine each. All indicated and confirmed as GF. When the Escargot arrived, it was different than I have ever seen prepared. The escargot and mushrooms were in a cream sauce poured over what appeared to be a small piece of fish or fish cake in the center of the plate. My wife and I started eating it, discussing if it was a fish or fish cake. I cut a piece of it and it was flaky like fish, so I took a bite. It tasted like bread. My wife tasted it, and she said it tasted like a croissant. We asked the waitress what it was, she wasn't sure so she asked the back of house. She came back and said that it was a "puff pastry". I asked if it was GF, she said she had to ask. So she returned once more and stated, "The puff pastry is NOT GF, but the "chef" says that the rest of the ingredients are"... I then asked her to inform the "chef" that as soon as you put an item on a plate that contains gluten as a side or actually part of the dish, as this one was, it is in fact not a GF dish. She said she would ask them to update the menu. There was no offer to bring another appetizer, or to make it right.
Next the main meals came out. The Pork Chop was cut medallion style with a brown sauce, that the waitress swears is GF. It also had a side of some very very pathetic asparagus. Several were the size of pipe cleaner, very thin. All were soggy and limp. The pork itself was tough to chew and I was worried that the brown sauce contained flour as a thickener. So I stopped after two bites.
The Chef's Fish "Plate", turned out to be a large bowl, filled with a creamy soup containing about 5 mussels, a single scallop, and two different pieces of fish, and chopped asparagus. They really like their asparagus there I guess. We expected a "plate" with the various fish items, and a sauce drizzled over it. Not various fish swimming in a bowl of soup. My wife said that the soup had a good flavor, that the scallops and muscles were good, but the fish was over cooked and very tough.
We were further disappointed at this point and declined any dessert or additional wine and asked for the bill. And it was the full bill. No discount at all for feeding me a non GF meal. Very disappointing. Two glasses of wine, an appetizer, and two mains was almost $140.
I certainly can't...
Read moreMy partner and I recently dined at Little Paris on a Saturday evening, having heard many great things about it. The restaurant, located in a shopping plaza, boasts a well-done atmosphere with a nice, subtle color palette, pleasant lighting, and an ambiance that isn't too loud.
We decided to skip the appetizers, despite their tempting appearance, and ordered a bottle of Bordeaux to accompany our meal. My partner chose the evening's special, a red snapper, while I opted for the trout. The server was pleasant, and we began our evening by pouring ourselves a couple of glasses of wine and chatting. To our astonishment, within five minutes of ordering, our entrees were delivered to our table. This unusually swift service left us stunned and suspicious. We hadn't even finished a few sips of our wine. When we expressed our surprise, the server commented that the chefs were "on top of it tonight." This left us wondering if the meals were pre-made or if we had received someone else's order. It seemed implausible that our dishes could be prepared and plated so quickly. My meal was warm, but my partner's red snapper was lukewarm. The rapid service detracted from our dining experience as it felt rushed and impersonal. Our reservation was at 6:45 PM, and we found ourselves leaving by 7:47 PM. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, except for a table of ten having a party, so the quick turnaround was perplexing.
As for the food, it was cooked properly, but the flavor profiles didn't appeal to us. This isn't necessarily a fault of the restaurant; it’s more a matter of personal taste. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the flavors of our dishes.
Additionally, the service post-entree delivery was lacking. Our server didn't check in to ask how our meal was, and the attention to our table diminished significantly. This further contributed to the odd atmosphere of the evening. When we left, there was no farewell or acknowledgment from the staff, making our departure feel as unremarkable as the service and food.
In conclusion, while Little Paris wasn't a disaster, it failed to live up to the high expectations set by the rave reviews we had heard. The meal felt rushed, the service was mediocre, and the price did not match the quality of the experience. Sadly, we won't be returning, as it didn't offer the special or over-the-top dining experience we...
