I can be honest and say this is one of the most massive and largest local video game stores that I have come across. In the store you will find lots of classic consoles and many will preserved retro games whether they are used or still factory sealed. It definitely was impressive walking in and just seeing things almost in brand new condition everything was pristine and Crisp.
I just however was not a fan of some of the price tags. Retro stores are beginning to make a comeback after falling apart for so many years. And considering the area they decided to place this stores location and the fact how there are now more retro stores than there used to be I feel as if they are kind of hurting themselves by some of the price tags they put on some of the used games.
I found myself looking at their GameCube collection and some of these games I found for either half the price at another retro store or even some games like Mario kart double dash about $20 or so cheaper at R u game just around the corner.
I understand this store comes from Pinellas county but I find it totally unrealistic to charge Pinellas county prices especially in the area that this store is located in.
I can't say that the employees were rude or they weren't helpful but the vibe I got was somewhat of a "know it all" vibe. To be quite Frank that is probably the first time I've really come across someone like that in a retro video gaming store. Because let's be honest we all visit retro video gaming stores so we can relive classic beloved memories either from our childhood or from a different period in time.
And not to mention it was beginning as if you were talking to an employee at a pawn shop as if they wanted to make a sale and make profit.
I really hope that this store and it's employees humble themselves. Because the selection and variety and just the overall design and the way that they created this store was absolutely phenomenal! But the biggest turn off was the prices and just upon conversation with the employees.
Of course you have well preserved factory sealed and exclusive consoles are going to be more higher in value but there were just certain things that I could just pick up at another retro store that did not justify some of these prices.
Everything I mentioned is just based on observation and I want to come back another time but perhaps much later on in time.
Very cool store but needs lots of improvement. I can't say for certain this is how they will run their business all the time considering I visited on grand opening day. But look forward to coming back hopefully if things make a change...
Read moreI'm not one to write bad reviews, but I'm pretty upset with the customer service at M&M. I have been a customer of theirs at this location since the doors opened, and I'm taking my money and business elsewhere moving forward.
I was at M&M and found a magazine in a pile of other magazines on the main floor, 28 Days Later: The Aftermath. The magazine didn't have a price tag, so I brought it up to the gentleman with the glasses and the locks hairstyle.
I asked him for a price, and he went on to the computer to look for the price of this 28 Days Later magazine. After looking, he told me the price of the magazine was going to be $130.00 or more. I told him no thank you, and the gentleman working for M&M seemed pretty upset, maybe thinking I was wasting his time. He tossed the magazine behind him and said it shouldn't have been out there anyway.
I ended up leaving the store because I wanted to do my own research on this magazine.
There is an ebay asking price of 149.99
However, in the last month there have been ebay sold of this magazine as low 25.00 and as high as 100.00.
M&M is definitely not looking out for their community and the customer service is horrible. It shows they were only trying to take advantage of me and thought I was going to pay their ridiculous asking price.
I did however come back the next day and was able to read the magazine for free. Someone placed the magazine back on that random pile of magazines on the main floor. So whoever did that I...
Read moreStopped by this afternoon to sell some magic cards. 2 guys were working. one of them priced my cards, between talking to customers that the second guy wouldn’t stop mopping to help. After about an hour the guy had to call his boss to see what he could spend. I was then offered $350 for about $800 worth of stuff. When I said “no way”, the mop guy decided to jump in and give me attitude asking how much I wanted, and what cards were actually worth anything. He wasn’t involved at all in the process but decided he should get involved now. At this point both guys are giving me a hard time. The first guy tried to tell me he was basically paying full value on the high end cards, which is nice and all but that means he’s paying nothing for the rest. Owner needs to let his employees do their job without making them call for approval, and the mop guy is a loose cannon. I won’t return and will be sure to tell others. Included is market price on just some of the magic an hour after the...
