La Michoacana Ice Cream — Restaurant in Temple Terrace

I just left. This is the Tampa location. I walked in and wasn’t greeted at all but was stared at by customers. I patiently waited while looking at all the ice cream flavors presented and still wasn’t acknowledged. When I was done looking and ready to order I noticed 2 of the 3 workers were helping 2 previous customers who were there before me. The third one went to the back so I continued to wait. A minute later a new customer walks in and is helped almost immediately. Stunned, but still patient I wait for acknowledgment from someone. Then another man walks in and he’s greeted immediately. At that point I just walked out. I don’t know if it’s because everyone there spoke Spanish and I only spoke English, but there was no form of communication with me at all, nor friendly eye contact and I was very excited to try this dessert location.

I’ve been here 3 times and my first experience was fine but my last 2 experiences have been awful. After the second time I was upset with the way I was treated by the employees. They were just staring at me not acknowledging me at all and started attending the other customers that came right after us. The manger I’m assuming came after a while and was the only one who spoke to us. This time I had to write a review because the employees again did not greet us but I know how that would go I just wanted ice cream and they messed us a vanilla and when corrected she had an attitude. I understand it’s almost closing time and employees are tired but it was such an easy fix and still messed up AGAIN. We just left it alone and paid and left. Reading the other reviews and seeing their replies to the 1 star reviews is very unprofessional.

Lots of options! So many that it's almost choice overload, actually. The flavors are unique, though. As for ice cream, I recommend the strawberry cheesecake and Fruity Pebble flavors. The ice cream is super creamy and is so thick that the poor little plastic spoons were holding on for dear life. 😂

I didn't not care for my pineapple and chamoy popsicle, but I think that's on me and not the restaurant. I just wanted to try something I've never had before but I don't think it's for me. People who like salt on watermelon and stuff would probably enjoy it though!
