Meat Depot — Local services in Tampa

I seen the negative reviews and felt like I had to jump to this stores defense a little. YESSS it smells bad, but that smell is what you should expect entering a small MEAT MARKET, it's not suppose to smell like roses and tulips, the meat trumps the smell lol...I just moved here, and this market was recommended because of their amazing family plans. I love the employees, the store gives you a intimate feeling, like a regular family owned market should. The cashiers are ALWAYS friendly, the owner is hilarious, and he keeps the place clean. They have a variety to choose from, and they also sell non-food, quick needed items. The produce may not look like big box brand stores, or maybe the meat, but it tastes great. That hamburger story made me laugh, not saying the poster is lying, but I have great results. Maybe it was a different cow. I brought my sisters to this store because they fell in love with the thick cut bacon from here, and they ordered pounds of it to go back home....maybe the negative reviews come from individuals who cant tell real from fake, or who is too worried about the smell than the products...the only thing I would suggest is lowering the prices of shelf and dairy products to be able to compete with other stores, I've noticed that it's a few cents more than other places, and those cents add up after a while. I'd give it zero stars if it would display to others.. I'm new to living in the new Tampa area and was looking for a place to go to buy meat in bulk googled some places and ended up here.. was a very unpleasant experience. Walk up to the meat department and there was a lady just waiting while the guys were standing around talking. After awhile they turned around and helped her. . Meanwhile I was waiting behind her. After they finished helping her they went back to their little group talking while I was patiently waiting. After awhile a guy looks up and like can I help you. So I was like yeah I was waiting right after the lady you just helped and he turned to his coworkers, not knowing they I am fluent in Spanish as well, saying to them "he needed to say something, talk... talk!! How hard is that stupid, we can't help you if you don't talk" as all his coworkers started laughing. I was pondering if I should respond back in Spanish but i let it go...Which is true but I've been in customer based settings and If ppl are waiting in a line you ask if they can be helped. I've been to meat markets all over Tampa and have never had to go out of my way to get someone's attention...

Si pudiera dar menos se las daría, súper desepcionada después de más de 10 años de ser cliente ayer fui como de costumbre a hacer mi compra de carnes y me atiende un joven nuevo le hago mi pedido de el plan de $159. Y unos cortes extras en donde uno de los cortes el joven me indica q por la cantidad q pido me dará una caja con esa cantidad, pues dije ok pero luego le digo q me divida la carne de la caja en 2 partes iguales y las coloque en fundas diferentes y me dice q ok pero me volvió a dar la carne dividida dentro de la caja y me indica q como me dio un descuento( q no pedí) tenia q ser con la caja.. bueno pues cojo la caja y noto q en la caja están todos los bares codes de los pedido q hice aparte del plan pues procedo en uno de los pasillos frente a las cajas registradora a habría la caja y colocar la carne dentro de otras más vacías y coloco la caja en la parte abajo del carrito para al pagar notificarle a la cajera y darle la caja vacía… en ese momento un hombre aparece detrás de mí haciéndose pasar como cliente con otro q creo es el gerente o encargado o quien sea de la tienda vigilándome alrededor de la toda la tienda a lo q me di cuenta inmediatamente porq no me quitaban la vista de encima pues q pensaron q me quizás iba a robarme la mercancía por haberla puesto en las bolsas del plan… en fin cuando voy a pagar casi llego a la caja este señor salió y me arrebató mi carrito y empieza a sacarme toda la mercancía y colocarla en la correa diciéndome yo la ayudo como si fuera yo impedida … le indico a la cajera q coloque la carne junto con la otra y el tipo muy cínico me dice si ajá ya lo sé q quieres la caja? Y le digo no pues eso era lo q no quería por eso saqué la carne total pague $350. Y hasta q no procesó la compra no se me despego del lado…. Perdón pero esta vez fue la última vez que hago mi compra aquí pues no soy ninguna delincuente hambreada ni tengo la necesidad de andar robando comida porque para eso trabajo y soy partidaria de q en las tiendas de comida no se come nada hasta q no se paga pero esto no se hace primero pregunté y luego alegue si hay q alegar no asuma porq a menos q sea yo un ser con poderes no sé a donde podría robarme yo las cosas si para salir de la tienda tengo que pasar por la caja registradora obligatoriamente….. esto fue de...
