Headed out to this place because we love poke bowls and finally found one nearby. Our house lost power that afternoon and was really hot, so why not eat out until crews restore power? When we arrived, the store was even hotter inside than it was outside. (left me with some questions about the way the sushi was hopefully stored) Staff was mostly friendly but it was very hard to hear the softspoken poke bowl creator. Once she finished my bowl, instead of being able to order one for my wife next to me, the staff basically skipped her and went to much more enthusiastically taking the order of the asian group that came in after us. Because they skipped her, it ended up confusing both party's orders and getting the staff flustered. After the cashier was practically yelling at my wife and I asking what we ordered (and completely ignoring the softspoken original staff attendant answering him) he finally got across we both ordered the same thing.
Ended up eating to-go and ate at a friend's house. Food wasn't impressive at all. Price point was okay, about $10 per poke bowl. the seared tuna was great, the seaweed salad was fantastic. onion and other veggies were great. avocado was no good, rice was "eh", and the wonton crunch things tasted years old and awful. Neither of us were too happy with the experience.
We'll be looking for poke bowls elsewhere. even if it's a little longer of a drive.
Food: Just okay. The biggest bummer was those crunchy wonton things that were mixed in there. didnt taste any good with it in there. After taking time to pick them out, the rice was just kind of eh, but mostly tolerable. everything else was pretty good Price: fair, it's a quick poke bowl. $10 seems reasonable. Restaurant: Very hot and uncomfortable. I think our house without power felt cooler than in there. Staff: Our poke bowl maker was really sweet and helpful, but a little too quiet so it was hard to hear her over the other customers, searing and cooking, and...
Read moreFirst time trying this restaurant and ordered the bento box with spicy tuna, krab salad, fried rice and gyozas. Where do I start 🧐? Firstly, the fried rice is just STRAIGHT UP rice. No scrambled egg, no peas and carrots, no scallions. Literally, JUST RICE!!! Next up we have the krab salad. Presentation was a lil unsettling because the krab looked like noodles and were just placed on some cucumbers.BOOM!!! Bon appetit. Finally, the pièce de résistance. The spicy tuna rolls. I’m almost certain there was no actual tuna in that roll. It tasted like cat food mixed with the realization that none of your childhood dreams will ever come true. What made this experience even more damning is the fact that I was very hungry at the time AND high so my expectations were very low for this meal and it still disappointed. I’d say stick to the poke bowls since that seems to be the most recommended meal. DON’T GET ADVENTUROUS AND ORDER OTHER THINGS BECAUSE YOU WILL BE...
Read moreThey recently just reopened and I’m thrilled to share my experience. I ordered the King Sausage and Salt & Pepper Chicken as appetizers, with a slightly extra spicy kick that brought a wonderful texture to my tongue. For the main course, I enjoyed a tomato soup base beef hot pot. I even did a little DIY by dipping the salt & pepper crispy chicken into the soup. This mix created an incredible, heavenly taste. After coming back from the gym, the warm, crispy breaded chicken blended with the rich soup was incredibly satisfying and warmed up my tummy. After some savory dishes, we followed up with something sweet: the brown sugar ice jelly. It’s not crazy good, but trust me, it’s strangely refreshing during this hot summer and definitely cools you down. I highly...
