USF Student Health & Wellness Center — Attraction in Tampa

I’ve never had issues with the health center until recently. Everything used to be fine and done in a timely manner. Now I’ve had two appointments canceled, one where I showed up and was told my psychiatrist wouldn’t even be there until 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Legitimately makes no sense why they’d waste my time and schedule me for 7:30 if the person isn’t even there to see me. We get charged $30 for being 7 minutes late but nothing happens if it’s on them. Honestly starting to irk me and I’m very hesitant about making another appointment It’s honestly very frustrating to have this happen when as the student/patient we have to be diligent about when we arrive or if we reschedule/cancel. If the employees at the health center can’t get themselves together or learn their providers schedules correctly then things are gonna go...

Came into the facility unable to walk properly due to a flare up from an ongoing issue that was never properly addressed. Came here looking for proper diagnosis/treatment but I was put with a nurse instead that repeatedly accused this pain on “party tricks”/“doing something stupid” and would not believe me when I told her otherwise. Completely ignored when I mentioned this being an ongoing problem and sent me for an xray to check for fractures (I did inform her this has been ongoing for years) and did not provide proper follow up/attention for my pain. Had an exceptional experience at the health and wellness center at USF, thanks to Dr. Venus James. Her unwavering support and genuine care made me feel incredibly comfortable.
