One of my favorite deserts is a piping hot cobbler a la mode. This place fills a void when it comes to the desert market, providing a comfort desert that really is well made, piping hot and served vanilla ice cream. To me a proper peach cobbler has to use the canned peaches, its the way I've always had it and its always juicy and with enough sweetness and a hit of tang this hit the mark!
The place is located in a strip mall facing away from the road so its a bit hard to see. We happened to go to the tea place next door and saw their sign, I never heard of them before so I skipped the tea and turned my attention to this store! The place is pretty small inside with minimal seating, but decent amount of people kept coming in for take out. We ended up grabbing a peach cobbler and an order of churros. I would skip the churros next time, they are good but nothing to write about. The peach cobbler though was excellent, had nice crust and very generous amount of peaches. I would have gotten another one if I wasn't so full! The ice cream was good, could have used a bit more but it was a nice vanilla with a hint of cinnamon!
Next time I go there I will get the flight and test out other cobblers and for sure the banana pudding!
The biggest issue with them is that there are too many choices, its hard to settle between the pudding, the cobblers, the churros and all the rest of the stuff on the menu, a more condensed or a clearer menu would be helpful. I didn't see the flights until I saw a picture of it on a flyer. The prices are fair and the service is very good. This has definitely become my go to spot for my desert fix.

Read moreI went back three weeks later after I got the response. I asked for Shawn and Rick and they were both there. They said that the cobbler is usually browned and is more crispy. They took good care of me and the peach cobbler was great. They are on their game and will make good if anything goes wrong. This really is a great restaurant dessert, probably about as good as your will ever get. The serving is quite large and two modest adults could happily split the cobbler and ice cream. This is my original review on which I gave two stars: tried the namesake dish, the peach cobbler. It cost $8 plus tax. The peaches were good. The sauce was good and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The ice cream is served in a separate bowl so the hot cobbler does not melt it immediately. I appreciated that thoughtful touch. The problem is the cobbler pieces. From their texture they seem like they are trying to approximate a pastry pie crust like texture as opposed to biscuit dough. The problem is that they do not appear to have ever been browned or crispy. My understanding is that a cobbler has at least a top crust and the top should be brown and crispy. This is not that. Even a bottom crust should have a more crispy side where it baked with direct contact to the pan. The cobbler bits were still a bit doughy which is indicative of mediocre pastry and that the mediocre pastry was undercooked. I’ll have to try the banana pudding next time. The folks at the next table had the banana pudding and said it...
Read moreTwo stars for the service and variety of flavors. This company could do well if they valued the quality of their ingredients. Even the kids could tell they cut corners but using cheap, flavorless ingredients. The food lacks the depth that would appeal to certain palates. Overall, if you are craving anything super sweet, this will do. But if you wish to enjoy a nice, flavorful dessert, you will feel cheated.
Pros: decent service large variety of flavors and decent portions
Cons: ice cream was packed in separate cups, but bagged with cobbler that should have been warm ordered praline cobbler that was well presented (lots of pecans and brown sugar topping), but barely had any peaches! the other reviews are absolutely correct in that this restaurant does NOT use fresh fruit. The few peaches that were in my cup are definitely canned. I had to hunt for mushy, very small bits of peaches buried in the heaps of crust. kids complained the ice cream was frozen milk without any vanilla flavor overpriced. I wouldn't mind paying almost $10 for each cup of cobbler if it was tasty. We could have stayed home and made a large $3 dump cake that tastes much better.
