I absolutely love this store! You can get so many great deals on different items including but not limited to different cereal brands fresh produce different types of meats and poultry and fish in a lot of cases Frozen which is great because you just take it home and put it in your freezer, they have different health and beauty care products and all kinds of different random products, the staff in the store is absolutely amazing as well! I highly recommend Tarpon Discount Grocery, this is one of those places where you really want to support the little business owner when you absolutely possibly can instead of bringing all your business to the big chains like Walmart Winn-Dixie or Publix, 95% of my meats I buy there instead of the big chains, if you haven't tried out this place you need to! I've never bought anything in this place that I've ever been unsatisfied with and if you are unsatisfied with a product you can return it with a receipt, thank you all for providing a great service and great prices for people around Pinellas county and surrounding area, if you're on a fixed income this is a must shop location!! If you are struggling or hard on money, there's nothing wrong with shopping here. Even if you're not, they have some good stuff. I will say 90% of the items I picked up were expired but I knew that going into it. The store is incredibly clean, nice staff, everything is pretty well organized. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the items are greatly expired, very well past the expiration date where I'm not sure if it would be safe to eat. The strawberries were covered in fuzzy white mold, some of the products expired in early 2021, some products looked like they had freezer burn. You get what you get at a discount store but just watch the dates and be careful what you buy and you can snag a great deal! I hear you get better things if you come on a "truck" day so maybe that's the case - I came near closing time. I may not shop here again because it doesn't serve what I need but I don't see anything wrong with it. I love going here! The majority of stuff (canned and bottled) is on the verge of expiration or has expired recently and is generally half the price or less than the same item in a regular grocery store. There is frequently fresh produce at tremendously low prices (like last week when they had beautiful fresh broccoli at "fill a bad for a dollar"! I took three crowns that would have cost nearly $6 even at Walmart! You never know what "gems" you'll find because they are odd lots that come and go.
