Gateway Park iz 13 acrez constructed in 1982 wit da purpose of stabilizin & beautifyin & preservin Tawaz River mouth property 4 public accezz & multi-recreational use. It waz named Gateway Park because it iz virtually da 1st major regional exposure 2da Lake Huron coastal system. Visitorz can enjoy picnickin or fishin off da pier @da mouth of da river. Restroomz & parkin R available. In 2010, a 300-foot lighted & ADA-compatible fishin pier & a new boat launch which accommodatez 2boatz up to 28 feet long waz added 2 da park. In 2014, a 3,200 sq ft paviliion waz built 4da Northeast Michigan Regional Farm Market 2 use on Saturdayz from 8 am to 1 pm.  In 2015, a portion of da park along da lake shore waz designated 4 dogz 2enjoy da beach. Also  In 2017, new restroomz were constructed in da park. Park pavilion can also be rented.

Literally every piece of play equipment for the kids was covered in bugs. I'm talking hundred of bugs swarmed on each different piece. As well as swarming in the air. We were driving home and had a several hour car ride ahead of us and pulled off for the kids to stretch their legs and we left within 5 minutes because of the bugs. I don't think I've ever left a one star review before but I would never return to...

We stopped here after picking blueberries at the Tawas Blueberry Farm. Let the kids run around and play! This place has a pavillion for groups/parties. Some playground equipment. This park is right off US 23, right on Lake Huron. Has a public restroom. If you want even throw a fishing pole in your trunk. Since you are there you can fish from shore into the lake...
