Harbor View Inn — Hotel in Tawas City

We had stayed here several times before the previous owners retired and closed the place. We were so glad to see it open again and just had a great experience staying there under the new ownership. We had to change the original on-line reservation and Mark was very friendly and helpful when we called. The place looks great--all updated and clean. Our king bed room was nicely laid out. The in-room jacuzzi felt awesome after a long day of hiking the beautiful parks in the area or going over to the beach (we cranked up the a/c and used it even though it was shorts weather one day!). The bed felt awesome--we even wrote down the mattress brand and model for next time we buy a new one. The breakfast of muffins, pastries, oatmeal-to-go, fresh fruit, juices, good coffee and teas was an unexpected surprise. We also loved having a fridge with a freezer. We do miss the in-room microwave to pop the complementary popcorn or heat up boxed leftovers, but there's one available down the hallway in the breakfast area, so not a big deal. Overall it was well worth paying a little more than some of the surrounding places charge because of the exceptional service, very comfortable, quiet rooms, the firepit (they even had a grill available), the friendly service, and the awesome jacuzzi! The experience and the motel was great!! The owners were amazing. Super friendly and accommodating. Our flight was going to arrive into Flint a half hour before the office closed . We had a two hour drive and would not arrive until midnight. I called and was worried that we would not be able to check in but Candace( Co-owner) , assured us all would be great. She left our info taped to our door , informed me of our electronic door lock code and even delivered an iron and ironing board for us to use during our stay. Stocked the fridge with some waters and left a light on. The room was clean and had a warm feeling to it . Bed and pillows were great and the location was perfect . There was coffee waiting in the morning just down the hall in alittle nook area with some breakfast snacks, drinks and fruit every morning. We were very happy with room 5 , King Jacuzzi suite.
