Absolutely Horrible Experience – Unsafe and Unprofessional

I don’t even know where to begin. My family and I recently stayed at this so-called "resort" hosted by Steven and co-hosted by Gail, and it was a nightmare from start to finish.

Safety Violations Everywhere: First off, the place was not safe at all. There were no locks on the doors for security, and even worse, there was no smoke detector in the house, which is a huge violation. To make matters worse, the furnace wasn’t even connected to the hose, leaving us worried about potential gas leaks or worse. We also found that there were no covers on the electrical outlets, which is a major hazard, especially with kids around.

Unhygienic and Uninhabitable Bathrooms: Both bathrooms were clogged, and they were completely unusable for hours. This is basic maintenance that any host should be able to manage. My family was forced to wait, and it really put a damper on the trip.

Unprofessional Communication & Host Issues: Gail convinced me to cancel my Airbnb reservation and deal with her directly. She had me Zelle the money instead, which was highly unprofessional. That was a huge red flag, but I went with it because she assured me everything would be perfect. Spoiler alert: it wasn't.

Late Check-In: We were supposed to check in at 3:00 PM, but the place wasn’t even ready until after 6:00 PM, and the host didn’t seem to care or offer any compensation for the inconvenience. We wasted half the day waiting around with no updates.

No Address or Lockbox: To make things worse, we had to waste time just trying to find the property. There was also no lockbox for key pick-up, which made the entire check-in process incredibly stressful and disorganized.

Would Not Recommend – Total Waste of Money! Overall, this experience was a complete disaster. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone. There are basic safety and hospitality standards that were completely ignored, and I am shocked that this listing is still active. Do yourself a favor and...

Do NOT book this place – unsafe, dirty, and completely unprofessional.

I booked this property through Airbnb, but the co-host Gail (who is managing this as a new business) convinced me to cancel and send money directly via Zelle — huge mistake. When we arrived, both the main house and the cabin were filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Nothing was ready until after 6:00 PM.

The property itself is unsafe and not guest-ready at all:

The bathrooms were clogged. There was no lockbox, and the windows and doors didn’t even lock we had to lock them using pieces of wood and guess what the host Steven and the co-host Gail didn’t care to do anything to fix the issue . The cabin #1 smelled and looked filthy with zero kitchen cooking basics (the pictures for the kitchen they had belongs to the main house) Both the home and the cabin have no smoke detectors or fire extinguisher or carbon monoxide alarm Electrical outlets were uncovered and exposed all over the house — a serious safety hazard. The furnace wasn’t even hooked up properly — completely disconnected from the hose. It’s shocking that this is being rented out. Letting people book a place in this condition is not only unprofessional but downright dangerous. Gail should not be managing any property until these serious issues are addressed. Read over the bad reviews before and after staying here and I think people misunderstand what a cabin is meant to be. One review even has the wrong address/location.

Booked theough Air BnB & stayed here for the first time with my 2 teens and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Loved there were multiple kayaks and Paddleboards free to use, with various sizes of life jackets. Plenty of seating, shuffleboard & water toys too.

Cabin #5 was exactly as advertised. It had a large bed and pullout coach with plenty of room to move around. Table and chair inside & picnic table outside. We didn't use the kitchen, except for the fridge, because a grill was provided so we opted for it. There was a garbage can outside readily available and inside a lot was provided for us including, but not limited to; bed sheets & plenty of pillows, shampoo & body wash, lots of pots & pans and cooking utensils, a tv, wifi, 1 small fan, 1 box fan, and AC unit (heat as well but didn't use), list goes on.

We'd stay here again because its obvious the new owners are working to upgrade and add their own touches. If looking for a cozy, rustic cabin with amazing views & amenities - this is the place for you.
