This location lost a few very loyal customers tonight. Normally me and my family shop at almost all of the utah locations but tonight was just totally unacceptable. As we walked up to the store with a reusable savers bag full of clothes to donate we accidentally entered through the wrong entrance we went to the one meant for cars. As soon as we walked through the door we got attitude from the donation attendant. We had to address him 3 times to get him to turn around and acknowledge us then he threw a tantrum because I wouldn't donate my reusable bag that I had just bought a week ago specifically for savers trips. He rudely emptied the bag into a trash bin and shoved my bag back at me then attempted to grab me by the arm and told me to come outside with him so he could explain something to me I refused to go outside so he opened the door and very rudely explained that I was at the wrong entrance. I told him I wouldn't have had to come inside the wrong entrance if there was either someone outside by the bins or if he had been paying attention he could have simply opened the door and helped me but evidently that was too hard. I then told him I didn't want the donation coupon I was supposed to get for donating since it gives me 20 percent off my purchase I just wanted him to drop his attitude that's when things got way out of hand he accused me of having the attitude. I walked off to start looking around the store and he told me not to bother looking around he was refusing service to us. I ignored him and continued walking through the store as him and a manager insulted us the entire time we were in the store and glared at us while threatening to call the police because we wouldn't leave. No one had even asked us to leave. Right before we left I went to the cashier and asked for my donation coupon or my donated items back and that's when she informed me that the attendant is actually the big boss or the head honcho. Lie. If he was a manager then he should at least wear a name badge or identify himself when there's an issue like this. What a sorry excuse for a manager an overgrown child just looking to pick fights...
Read moreThis savers location is currently under some construction (7/3/24) but do not let this sway you from entering. The unique finds I came across in every department/part of this store was awesome! I don’t know if I just came on a good day, since this was my first time at this particular location, but I was impressed!
Amongst the exciting, thriftable finds were vintage art collectibles, unique paintings (quality work, not a random college student that got lucky once), vintage sewing machines, well-kept record players, a Panasonic boombox (that worked when plugged in), awesome lamps (with the shades in tact and without wear & tear), a good selection of sporting goods, seating/furniture, electronics that powered on and light fixtures that had been kept for many years and were one-of-kind pieces from past eras.
The women’s and men’s clothing and shoes, accessories, etc. offered clean, trendy duds for varying interests across the board. I found the jewelry and book sections most impressive, as the selections were extensive and dominated most of my time. The literature that I came across, and more so than not, was comprised of intellectual work, and not just filled with garbage books no one wants for their toilet reading, worst case.
Both departments set the items price points fairly, overall and the jewelry was comprised of ornate, beautiful pieces with all body parts considered- this was exciting to peruse through. I ended up purchasing 7 books, and after 4 you get the 5th free. What I found most pleasantly surprising about the books available were that there were more than just Utah cult religion, to my pleasant surprise!
Additionally, the store was tidy, organized and well kept. Overall, this was one of the best savers I’ve...
Read moreI used to go here all the time to get clothes for my kids and it was easy to find great deals on everything we needed. It's been a while since I've been here but my daughter needed some jeans so we decided to go to see if we could find her a few pairs of pants. Normally we grab a bunch of pairs then try them on and buy the ones that fit but I learned now that they no longer have fitting rooms and you have to try them on at home and bring them back to exchange them if they don't fit. Not only that now the prices are way higher than they used to be for things that were donated to them. I also noticed that there were very few employees working and now they only have self checkout unless you are exchanging something and you also have to pay for bags- only .10 cents each but still the fact that you have to pay almost regular retail for used donated items, you have to do self checkout and bag your own stuff and you can't try it on and even though you can exchange it you can't return anything and get your money back - only in store exchanges. You can't go in and return it for in-store credit that you can use later on either it has to be in store the same day when you return it so no getting it loaded onto a gift card and coming back later. It's just very inconvenient and honestly the fact that they won't do a return instead of an exchange just feels greedy especially when they are nickle and diming you with the bags and not paying to have a full staff at the store like you might expect for the prices they are charging. I wasn't impressed and I won't be...
