My partner and I recently tried out Escapology at Tempe Marketplace, and while it was a fun experience overall, there are a few things to consider if you're going as a duo. We’ve attempted two rooms here so far—7 Deadly Sins and, most recently, the Batman room. Both times, we found ourselves getting really engaged with the puzzles and making solid progress, only to hit a major roadblock with the final puzzle, which felt like a time-sink designed to stretch things out. The rooms themselves are well-designed and immersive, with impressive attention to detail in the themes and clues. However, they definitely seem built for groups of three or more. With just two of us, it felt like we were constantly rushing to keep up with the clock. The ‘record completion times’ displayed are a bit hard to believe; they suggest people are getting through in 30 minutes or less, but unless they’re repeat players or have some prior knowledge, that seems nearly impossible with the way the puzzles are laid out. Overall, Escapology is a great place for a fun challenge, especially if you have a slightly larger group to tackle the rooms. But if you’re going as a pair, be prepared to work fast—and possibly come up just short, like we did.

My family & I had a lot of fun doing the Batman room together. My kids were excited they were able to participate as this was their first in person escape room they've done with us. As a Batman fan I liked all of the details they added into this room, it really did feel like you were part of the Gotham world. Everything was set up very well and flowed nicely throughout out game session. We almost completed the room but got stuck on a puzzle in the third room. When our game host came in, I had asked her about the puzzle we got stuck on & showed her what we had written down on the writing tablet they provide and asked her to show me how it was supposed to be completed. It seemed like we had the right answer, it just didn't work/let us move onto the next phase of the room. Didn't seem like she was sure either why it hadn't worked. Either way it was still a lot of fun and I would return to do one of the other rooms, I like the large selection of themes they have to choose from.

We had an absolute blast at Escapology! We took on the Lost City challenge, and wow, what an experience! The room was incredibly immersive, with thrilling puzzles that kept us on our toes the entire time. It was a well-balanced mix of mind-bending riddles and creative clues, and we definitely had to use a lot of them! A huge shoutout to Abby, Kade, and Gabi, who were all super helpful throughout the game. Their friendly guidance added to the experience without taking away from the excitement of solving things ourselves. They struck the perfect balance between offering hints and letting us figure things out, which made it even more fun. If you’re looking for a challenging escape room that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Escapology’s Lost City is the one to pick! Can’t wait to come back and try another room soon. Highly recommend it for families, friends, or anyone looking for a great adventure!

I took my best friend here for his birthday. We are both of unusually high intellect and love to find fun activities which challenge us to get creative, meaning, in our down time we act like 5-year-olds with a bank roll. So, of course, we walked in pretty full of ourselves. We thought this would be a quick, fun game that we would have to purposefully take our time with and were wanting the most challenging room. This was our first time doing an escape room. We didn't want to look anything up first and didn't want clues as to how to even get started. The young man at the register, Josh, was beyond welcoming and personable with a very fitting professionalism to parallel the settings. Everything was impressive, from the welcome to the waiting room to the experience. I wish we could pay to go through them more slowly just to get to explore the rooms themselves. The quality of the sets and props are so good that we got lost in it. It was an adventure, like an amusement park for adults. I have that Disney glow after only an hour. It was well worth the cost. Not only did we walk out delighted to be humbled, but Josh gave us the rundown and explained the secrets of the room while we listened intently with unbridled glee to the details of the wall that was smarter than us both combined. Oh, did I mention, the harder rooms weren't open at the time slot we wanted because I wanted to surprise my friend and let him choose the room, so we got humbled by their least challenging room? Couldn't be more impressed with everything! Kids would have the time of their lives here! Josh gave it the energy of a high end amusement park experience and the settings brought it home. We'll be...

The stars are for the workers! If I could give them individually 5 starts i totally would. Fantastic service and personality. As for the rooms, they are honestly falling apart and don’t seem to be working well. In 2 parts of the room major things did not work that were big part of the escape room experience. Also throughout the room pieces of equipment kept breaking with little to no force. I’ve been to lots of escape rooms all around the valley and yes this was pretty yes the staff was SO kind but the experience its self was disappointing if you’ve been to lots of escape rooms and appreciate the puzzle of it all which is my favorite part.

EDIT- I went back a second time thanks to management (Kayti, love her) and my experience was amazing! Such a fun room everything went perfectly and it was incredibly fun and me and my partner escaped! Nothing broke this time! If I had to guess the other room is just used a lot more frequently. 7 deadly sins was rewarding and I would totally recommend this to anyone in...
