I usually go to their Orlando location, but because they open this Tampa location, I thought I give them as try, since it’s closer to me. I called in a day earlier to make an appointment, they say there is only two hair stylist. That’s fine, I ask for one that is more experienced, they said both are good, then I said ‘ok’, let me book an appointment then for the next day. On the phone they didn’t specify who I was going to be with, so I asked who was going to work on my hair, they said Ricky. Fast forward to the next day, I go into my appointment, a guy with tattoos and glasses was doing my hair. I assumed he was Ricky, but came to later find out that he wasn’t, he was the other stylist, Eric. Getting the wrong stylist wasn’t the bad the part, the bad experience, was when I sat down after washing my hair. I tried to explain to him the haircut I wanted. He said he didn’t understand what I was saying, he needed a picture. That’s fine, I understand some of us are visual people, so I look up a layer cut video of the style I wanted. He then came at me with a snotty tone, saying the video was all I needed to show him, because hair stylist understand things “differently”, so my beginning explanation wasn’t useful. Giving me a feeling that he didn’t want me to speak up about how I want MY hair to be. I was thinking to myself it’s fine as long as he can cut the style I want, a little attitude was find, but he didn’t. When he was blowdrying my hair after the initial cut, I looked as my hair from the mirror halfway through the process and touch my hair to see how it feels. Eric immediately came at me with a inpatient tone “its not done, thinning still needs to be made”, before I said ANYTHING. So I slashed back of course emphasizing “I haven’t made any comments yet, why are you so anxious, are you not confident in your skill?”. Coming at your customer like that is completely unprofessional. I don’t need to argue to have my hair cut completed. Not only was he trying to argue with me throughout the whole process, whenever I tried communicating with him about my style, he tries to blame on my hair being too “thick”, I need to “style” it to match the video I showed him earlier, view it from the “side”. So pretty much gaslighting me all the way through this haircut. Towards the end I had to ask him to use a straightener on my hair and volumize the top section. Because he kept saying my hair was too thick, that’s why it’s poofy, then continuously blowdrying isn’t going to help.
End of story is don’t go unless u need like the most basic haircut. And all these good comments about Eric, I didn’t experience at all. In fact it was the opposite way around. So go at your own risk is...
Read moreThis place is amazing ! I’m so happy that they finally have opened up a salon in the Tampa location. I used to go to their Orlando location but since I live in Tampa, going to Orlando can be quite a drive so this was definitely a plus since it’s now only a 20 minute drive instead of a 2 hour drive. But anyways let’s get down to business. Came in here to get my hair done but I wanted to know my options and what would be suitable for me. I was able to just walk in and get a free consultation from Eric. He was very detailed and asked a lot of important questions that would make the entire process smoother. I was able to get my hair done the same day (lucky me)! The entire process did take a while since I was getting a “highlight balayage”. Eric was very meticulous throughout the entire time and left no detail out. I do recommend that if you are looking for a makeover to call the salon first to confirm if they have any openings and make sure that you have a few hours to spare pampering yourself. I honestly would give more than 5 stars if I could. The stylists here are a bit different than others, because they actually do a one on one with you. They don’t throw you to an assistant or anything, so you know you’re getting the utmost attention. Pricing was really good and reasonable. Definitely recommending Eric for all your...
Read moreI noticed this new salon when passing and wanted to try it out, and honesty it did not disappoint. Eric was my stylist and he was very honest about my hair. Even though im asian, i do have curly and frizzy hair. I usually leave it in a bun since i dont usually know what to do with my hair and work in the food industry. I wanted to do a layered cut with some curtain bangs blending along with the layers, but he was completely honest and said my hair was not suitable to do so. He did suggest if i really wanted to, its best to do a keratin straightening or some sort of straight perm to achieve the look i was going for. I didnt have the time that day to do so, but i still had my haircut. He showed me some photos of what he thinks is low maintenance, suited for my face shape, and my hair texture. I ended up with something completely different than what i wanted, but LOVED the outcome, it was so much better than i had expected. Eric was really easygoing, direct, funny, nice, and overall just a pleasant experience. Will definitely be back to try the straightening when i have more...
