I’d like to report a very disappointing experience I had during a curbside pickup at the Palmer H‑E‑B in Texas City
The employee who assisted me, Laylee, was extremely rude and dismissive. She made no effort to provide even basic courtesy or professionalism. I was taken aback by her attitude.
Afterward, I asked another employee for the name of the person who had helped me, and I was intentionally given a false name. I called the store and spoke with the manager, Andrew, who initially told me the employee’s name was “Miranda.” However, he followed up later to let me know that I had been lied to, and that the employee was actually Laylee.
While I appreciate Andrew calling me back and correcting the information, this situation was unacceptable from start to finish. The rudeness, followed by the dishonesty, left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.
I’m sharing this not to be negative, but because I believe in accountability and because I know H‑E‑B typically provides great service. I hope this is addressed internally, and that better training and expectations are put in place for future curbside interactions.

I was tired, just got off work and needed to get some gas; as a result, I decided to cash it there to use it for food and gas. When I walked up to the counter, I could already tell the person in the courtesy booth was in a bad mood, but I still greeted him with a smile which seemed to agitate him even more. He looked at the check and asked me what kind of check it was so I told him then he said we don't cash those kinds of checks here. He then said try your bank or go to the bank who issued the check. I found that odd because I've cashed that same kind of check there before. To me, it seemed like because he was having a bad day he wanted me to have one also. When I left there his rude behavior had rubbed off on me, and it was not because he wouldn't cash the check but more so his attitude. Read moreI love the new store I just wish they had the selection of the larger stores. I have found most of the employees to be very nice and helpful but the bakery has rude people. I happened to grab one of the expensive premade cakes from outta the case and was looking for someone to help me and get a box. When I was finally able to flag someone down after what had to have been 10-15 minutes, I was rudely greeted by someone telling me I'm not supposed to get my own cake and I need an employee to help me. I asked why the cases opened from the outside if we aren't supposed to help ourselves. The very rude, unhappy lady snidely snapped back at me with "we're working on getting that fixed." Well... Excuse me if I'm wrong but this is a brand new store, so why wouldn't they just make the glass case accessible only from BEHIND the counter. Why let us open it at all? Or better yet, put signs up!!
