I have been in and around this little shopping area all throughout my days in Oregon (since the mid 80s). The mix of stores has changed remarkably over the years. The largest store, Joann Fabrics, used to be a supermarket (was it Safeway?), and Gaffer's, a fish and chips restaurant that we all loved, used to be here. There are still some good shops, and the place is always busy, but it often seems just a little bit run down to me, especially for Tigard. I believe that this is a remnant of Tigard of the 1980s. After all these years, my favorite business here is the Joy Theater, which has been here for as long as I've known. I've eaten once at the new seafood lounge which took Gaffer's place, Pacific Boil, and need to give it another shot (my party was not impressed on the first try, having been long-time longer-than-me fans of Gaffer's, but I personally thought it was pretty good). I realized only just recently that there is a Sesame Donuts here, and have been wanting to see if it's a worthy donut chain. Read moreThis place used to be where everyone would get together and hangout. It was usually pretty lively and the main attractions were Richards Deli, and Ginos, & Gaffers. Now that Ginos is gone and Gaffers just barely opened Richards was the lone spot and its pretty empty around there most days. Not as fun of a place to visit unless your playing Video Pokers or visiting Jo-anns or the Dollar Tree. The Archery place is pretty awesome and fun for the entire family as long as everyone is at least 5+ yrs old. And the Laundry Mat is convienent and no super expensive. Stays open until 11 pm and as long as your inside by the time the doors lock you can finish your laundry...

You don't have to drive far to a big Asian store because this little store has what you need. And if you can't find it, the owner will order what you need. I am Pacific Islander (Chamorro) and all the ingredients I need to make our native food can be found here. Ready made island food are also being sold here such as empanadas, rosketti, guyuria, papaya koko, buñelos, etc....
