Sure, you could hit the drive-through for a quick meal ... . But why would you, when you could have the crunchy, tangy, chewy deliciousness of Honey Spicy Bowl?
I enjoyed the K-pop Chicken Bowl With Honey Spicy Bowl. The buttermilk popcorn chicken is tender with a fantastic crunch. The bowl begins with tender purple sweet rice. That's topped with pickled daikon radish, onion and seaweed, along with corn, shredded daikon and a scoop of creamy Korean potato salad. The chicken is piled high next, followed by a drizzle of mild, sweet and spicy sauce, a dusting of sesame seeds and a garnish of julienned scallions.
You might be tempted to eat the chicken first. That's OK, because then you can mix the rice and vegetables and get all of the tastes in one bite.
Be sure to save room for dessert. The bubble tea is a good fall-back option, but what you really want is an authentic Korean snow bowl. The family shipped the 200-bowl snow-making machine all the way from South Korea. The snow comes in a large bowl. Mine was topped with sweet red adzuki beans and mochi. The first bite is a revelation, light on your tongue like falling snowflakes — if snow began its life as lightly sweetened, creamy milk.
It's all worth a stopping by next time you're in Tigard. You'll find that suddenly there are lots of errands bringing you to Tigard, just in...
Read moreFirst visit. I wanted to love this place as it’s a tiny locally owned shop in the city I live in. Unfortunately though we won’t be back.
No indoor seating and the only outdoor seating were 2 dirty plastic picnic tables along the side walk facing a very busy 99w. The parking is not convenient and the staff is non existent, hanging out in back of the kitchen and allowing the customers to place their own orders at a kiosk making it impossible to ask questions regarding food or anything. These are NOT what Korean corn dogs are suppose to taste like. At $5 each, it was extremely disappointing! The sausage was poor quality, greasy and was not hot. The batter was not only soggy and oily but lacked flavor and the middle was raw batter. A traditional Korean corn dog should be crispy and have a nice chewy texture much like mochi. The side of potato macaroni salad is about the size of a small sauce cup (don’t waste your money) and it tastes like spoiled mashed potatoes.
The only saving grace was the pistachio bubble tea. It had a lightly sweetened delicate pistachio flavor, (I would’ve liked more pistachio but the kiosk does not give you the option of adding any additions) and the tapioca...
Read moreThe food is amazing there!! They revamped the menu from some time ago and ever since then we have been addicted! It’s our go to spot and they always have our order done on time.
My favorite is their honey soy lemon chicken bowl - purple rice has so many nutritional benefits and the small amount of potato/Mac salad and coleslaw makes it a balanced meal.
The corn dogs are always a hit. Every single time they fry it to perfection (I recommend the extra few pennies to get half cheese- comes with mozzarella and Colby jack)
Only down side to it is that they close so early. Our most recent visit we placed an order super close to when they close, but they still had it ready when we arrived and I want to appreciate you for that!
I would much rather support this small business as I see the people work hard to run this shop. Sometimes only one person has to take orders, cook, pack the food etc and all the negative reviews about customer service shows how ignorant people are these days. Be grateful you have the opportunity to eat as there are so many that...
