Inexperienced tech, wrong diagnosis. Waste of time and money. Our washer was out of balance and we had a tech come evaluate it. I stayed with him the entire time as he ran the unit empty and with clothes. He couldn't replicate the problem so he said it could be the drain pan we were using or that it might be a cracked "spider". This would be the y-shaped hardware on the back that holds the drum in place. He quoted more to fix the washer than a new replacement would be. Our washer is onl 18 months old. We enlisted a second opinion from another company. This second tech immediately put the washer in test mode by pushing a few different buttons at the same time. The washer began spinning at very high speed and he could see the problem immediately. He diagnosed it as one or more bad shocks, something he indicated is the most common reason for this problem. He fixed our washer for $54 in parts rather than the $800 we were quoted by Mr. Appliance. After the washer was fixed, I called Mr. Appliance to relay this experience and tell them that I felt their tech wasted our time and money, not to mention all the wild goose chase options we tried at his recommendation (removing our drain pan, etc). Their response was a polite, but not all that interested "thanks for letting us know." Because of the stark difference in the level of training each tech seems to have been given, I won't waste my time any longer with...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service call to repair our dryer that was no longer heating. The original problem was a blown thermal fuse mounted on the heating element housing. When i called Mr. Appliance to repair the dryer, the service technician diagnosed that the "mother board" had gone bad. Due to the age of the dryer Mr. Appliance was not able to get a new mother board to replace it. I was able to find a replacement mother board online but the mother board was not the problem! The original mother board is working. After I replaced the blown thermal fuse, I then found that a wire splice connecting the blower motor was broken, after the service technician said he tested that wire. I cut the splice out and replaced it. The dryer is heating great now. I Called the manager for Mr. Appliance to ask for a refund on the service call since their technician made a very expensive WRONG diagnosis! The manager said she couldn't refund the $120 service call even if they diagnosed the problem wrong. The manger said Mr. Appliance had no responsibility for making the wrong diagnosis! Luckily it turned out that I was able to figure the problem out myself after two weeks. Hopefully I can get my money back for the mother board that I purchased online and didn't need to use. Bad business Mr. Appliance! Poor attitude! Not responsible for making the repair right...
Read moreThis company is great! Due to many base experiences, I'm always hesitant when I have to call appliance repairmen. This company is AMAZING! They were able to make an appt to come out, same day. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and were back out within the week to do the repair. They have an app that txt's when they're just about to head your way, along with a pic of your technician, so you can see WHO to allow inside your home. Then the office calls when they're about 5-mins away to let you know. They wea the disposable booties over their shoes and lay their own mat outside your door to assure they're not tracking anything into your home. THEY empty contents of your fridge that may be in their way and THEY replace everything when they're done! They're professional, friendly, quick, efficient, and explained to us the problem and what they were doing. No 'upselling' and very reasonable prices for parts and labor. They charge $129+tax, service call to come out but as long as you stay with them for repair, that $129 goes towards your parts and labor costs. AMAZING company, WE WILL refer others and call again when we need any repairs. Thank you! GREAT COMPANY, GREAT TECHNICIANS, GREAT...
