I am a pro mask person however when you rudely refuse to allow my 2 year old grandaughter to enter your arcade when North Carolina guidelines say mask are only required for 11 yo or younger. I am a business owner on Virginia and I understand compliance however you are taking it too far. We have frequented your business for years however this will be our last.
This is the document posted on the NC Department of Health And Human Services on June 30, 2020. Tjis is what I based my complaint on refusing our 2.5 yo grandaughter access to the arcade. I understand these are frustrating times for everyone. I cannot be held responsible for my sons actions. I am raising my star rating because you are trying to do your best however if you are going to impose rules other than those posted by a government agency you should clearly post it. You have a very clear sign when you enter that says must wear mask however no mention of the need for a toddler to do so.
Guidance for Businesses
Certain businesses are required to have patrons and employees wear face coverings whether they are inside or outside when they are or may be within six (6) feet of another person, or unless an exception applies. Specific occupational settings, including health care settings, should continue to follow existing protocols and require surgical or procedure masks or N95 respirators, as indicated. These businesses must follow the requirements for face coverings as described in Executive Order 147. These businesses, to the extent they are open are: • Retail Businesses; • Restaurants • Personal Care, Grooming, and Tattoo Businesses; • Child Care Facilities, Day Camps, and Overnight Camps; • Gyms, Exercise Facilities, and Fitness Facilities, • State Government Cabinet Agencies; • Transportation; • High-Density Occupational Settings Where Social Distancing is Difficult, including manufacturing settings, construction sites, and migrant farm or other farm settings; • Meat or Poultry Processing Plants (new surgical mask requirement); • Long Term Care Facilities (new surgical mask requirement); • Other Health Care Settings (ongoing adherence to CDC guidance)
Exceptions . Face Coverings do not need to be worn by an individual, worker, customer, or patron who: 1. Read moreEdit: I wanted to reply to the business reply. I find this arcade to be one of the best small arcades I’ve been to. When we travel we try to hit up every arcade around. This one has a wonderful balance of price and amusement. The prizes are not what I come for, so it’s not a disappointment to me personally whenever the prizes are no good- I just want to enjoy myself! I played the dance machine probably 2 hours and paid maybe 10$ (including paying for kids who wanted to play with me) on a DDR at Dave and busters that would be 60$. I just wanted to warn people to play for enjoyment sake and not worry about tickets. And because the machines are 25-50 cents I didn’t care when it ate a quarter or didn’t function properly.
The accessibility standpoint is absolutely a plus for me. Thank you for what you do, I hope to see you again next year!
Original review: Went here for the arcade. They have a dance machine (not ddr, but a diagonal type). I played multiple days and each time played at least 30 minutes. Barely anyone was there and it’s 50 cents for the dance machine (this is amazing, some dance machines are 2$!). The other machines were either very cool older quirky arcade games OR broken/not working properly. The prizes are awful, don’t play for tickets-play for enjoyment of the game. The put put course looks goofy, but might entertain a toddler (or someone like me). Overall it’s a fun place that I enjoy visiting with my family when...
Read moreThe arcade is awful.... we went here last year on our yearly trip and half the games were not working, we went here tonight to give it another try and half the games still are not working. I asked the lady where we count the tickets and she rudely answered there's a ticket counting machine, and then you pick your prize from the vending machine where you can't even use all the tickets that your money won. What a joke! This place has the potential to be something great if they would reinvest some money back into the business and be more helpful and have a better personality.... this is coming from a business owner.
Okay so update on my last review which was from July 2018. We went here tonight July 2019 and I kept an open mind that the games may not be working due to damage from the hurricane but I was impressed by how many games were working. Great job to the owners I'm sure it's been hard trying to recover after the storm. Customer service was alot better than our last trip which I really appreciate. Ticket counting machine and vending machine for prize is still the same, it didn't give us credit for all the tickets when kept together but it counts them right when you feed the tickets 1 at a time. My star rating has changed and we will give it a try...
