Do you want to spend thousands of dollars on furniture that is just junk, I have the place for you. There is a reason Lazy Boy has been sued, there is a reason other cheaper stores are now selling what is supposed to be high end furniture. Lazy Boy is nothing like it was a decade ago. Their furniture and I mean all of it is the worst. It is made without care and has fun breaking and falling apart.
Sadly, we got sucked into them. DON'T. The salespeople claim they know so much. They don't. They make promises with no intention of keeping them. I promise you that you can get get the cheapest recliner at Wal Mart and it will be better than the expensive junk I have now.
And their great sales, ya, they have them all the time and then when you demand a percentage taken off because of the horror you are put through you will hear, well we can't, it was the this or that sale.
We bought a reclining sofa, a reclining rocking chair and a reclining love seat (all custom orders). We paid top dollar for this junk. We were forced to wait months and months for anything to be delivered and when it was the sofa had rips, the love seat had tears and it all had to go back to be remade. They actually delivered that. The recliner rocker was okay for about a month and then just started to sink. Call Lazy Boy, ya, they won't call you back.....ever. They don't care at all.
Second delivery, we are now close to 6 months later and the sofa was acceptable and the love seat recliner again was torn, had rippled seams and it did not work. Fun. What we really loved was watching one delivery guy take out our rocking recliner and toss it outside. He said he thought he was really old. Now it was less than 3 months old. He put it back and broke the reclining function. So, now that has to be repaired--3 weeks later and it has never been 100% since.
After that mess a third delivery is made of the broken, messed up love seat that reclines. I took possession. Within 3 weeks it started to sink in the back and bottom where I sit. Now this cost thousands. I now have to use a pillow to sit on it or it hurts. That remote is working--yay for them.
The sofa came with the wrong pull ups and has these horrid wires to get a seat to recline. We don't use it. Ever.
And again, you call and call and they will never get back to you once you have their junk. My last recliner chair was, in fact, from Wal Mart. I wish I had that back. Lazy Boy took all our money and there is no lumbar support at all.
Don't be fooled. We were ripped off over 4K for sofa that is not what we ordered, 4K for a recliner and and another over 5K for the love seat that is unusable without pillows to support you and it looks awful with the sinking in that one can't miss when they come in my door. Now, this does not include, tax, delivery and waiting for month up month.
Next time I am going to just get Wal Mart. Cheap, but it works for years and you get what you pay for. At Lazy Boy you will just be forever mad.
Stay away from them. They are not high end, they are just super expensive and all the lies they tell. What a fool we were. Don't be use. Don't even look. Their...
Read moreI gave your product the lowest possible rating because it was delivered without the optional fabric protection that I paid $400 for. I bought the items (couch and two swivel chairs) at your Torrance outlet. The sales experience went very well - friendly, no pressure etc - until the very end. She asked if I wanted to buy the extended warranty and I declined. I never buy the extended warranty on anything since itâs cheaper in the long run. She then demonstrated their optional fabric protection treatment by dipping a treated Kleenex tissue into a glass of water - and it came out dry. I immediately said I definitely wanted that but it was a package deal with the warranty for 400$, and you could not get it without the warranty. No problem since that alone was worth the price. When the furniture finally arrived I tested it with a drop of water and it was completely hydrophilic - it was definitely not treated with anything that would make it hydrophobic. I called the salesperson several times but she was always out of the store since she knew what I was calling about. I then called the warranty department and they assured me the fabric was treated before shipment. I explained the store Kleenex demo vs the fabric actual performance and she explained that the reason for the difference was the tighter weave on the Kleenex vs the fabric. That is complete nonsense. I then realized it was a scam. They sold me the warranty which I did not want and I did not get the fabric protection that I did want. After doing a little online research I also found out that the warranty was also pretty worthless - no surprise to me by this point. I also notice in the online complaints that your response to complaints like this one is that you have no control over the people that sell your product - that they are independent. Well that arrangement is your choice and so you must accept that the LazyBoy brand is what gets tarnished. As far as the furniture...
Read moreLarge selection of fabrics and components, with lots of options to customize to my needs. The store manager in the Torrance, California, store is very helpful and user-friendly. Her name is Geva Joseph and she's a gem.
Amendment a year later: Geva is still a gem, but all 4 pieces of the sectional we bought broke, some of them more than once. Geva Jospeh is till a gem and she eventually got Lazy Boy to give us a replacement couch. I hope that this one holds up better than the first one--so far so good. But dealing with Lazy Boy customer service is a nightmare. They delivered some items to the wrong address and we never found out until we called and complained. They will not schedule an installation appointment until the replacement part arrives, and then it's 6 weeks before they can schedule--so you wait twice, once for the piece and then again a very long time for someone to come to install it. And every time you call you get someone else who has no idea what's going on. Eventually, I stopped communicating with them and relied on Geva to arrange everything--which she did cheerfully. But until they get their quality control and customer service in better shape, I can't give them an enthusiastic review. The sectional--when it works--is very nice, but I had expected far less trouble when I bought it, so I'm downgrading my review from 5 stars to 3. If the replacement couch holds up better than the original for a significant time, I'll come back and revise again.
It's now two years later and the replacement couch has held up well. The problems we had with the original couch have not recurred with this one. I'm upgrading my...
