I personally think that taking your car through the neighborhood has got to be the least best way to experience this.
There's just too much to see in so little space that you're gonna miss a lot if being forced to move along at the pace of cars in front of you. No traffic control most areas so just relying on everyone communicating effectively, which slows things down further at intersections.
Also, though I know it's just one day of the year and all, it feels wasteful to me to have your engine basically idling for an hour... and again, still probably be feeling rushed at times.
Though all the kids standing through their sunroofs shouting holiday cheer, I think they were great. Thank you.
But take the sentimental walk outside. Embrace the cold that we lose so quickly out here, or utilise your only opportunity to wear your winter clothing.
Stop where ever you like. Make sure you hit every house you want without worry of missing your turn or whether its worth the added time to backtrack.
Get your photo taken in front of various sets, homes, or with some resident awesome enough to dedicate their time to dress as the grinch and pose with you. One of the best photo locations I found was a lighted archeway a little ways into a dead end of cut-off (for the event) street. Gather round a young group just setting up to play live music. Go see if you can find the home offering spam musubi!

Read moreOkay we always enjoy coming to Candy Cane Lane here in Torrance during the Christmas holidays! :-) it is a fantastic Wonderland of beautiful homes all decked out for the holidays! The best way to experience it is to park your car and walk around the neighborhood area! Though you can drive, somehow that doesn't do the trick! And you will find people selling warm drinks and other goodies along some of the homes! Highly recommend getting there early before it gets dark and that way you can find a convenient place to park!
