This was my first time ever going to a haunted house and my boss had recommended it to me and my coworkers. I will say this haunted house definitely has the scare factor most look for. There are jump scares from the actors at unexpected moments throughout the whole experience. The majority of the rooms are very dark so you never know what to expect to pop out. The majority of the props look very real and the actors did a great job in scaring us. I loved how it was indoors too so we weren’t cold waiting and/or walking outside However, the wait was a bit long, approximately 45 minutes to get in or so (but it’s understandable, it is Halloween night). There were also moments where my friends and I did not know in what direction to walk in as there was no actor or employee to tell us and we had to figure it out. This may have been due to the fact that it is very dark throughout most of the haunted house, Lastly, I was personally not a fan of the inflatable section where you have to crouch down and squeeze your way between two black inflatable small spaces. It felt too long to maneuver our way out and i got a bit panicky in there. I also see some people who mentioned how short the whole experience felt. However, my friends and I do not agree. It may have been 25 minutes or so, but it truly feels longer once you’re inside walking through it all. There were moments I believed it was all over and we would run into the next room as another actor waited for us. Nonetheless, we had a great time. Will we come back again? I’m not sure lol we did genuinely get scared, but we had a great time enjoying this first...
Read moreArrived at about 7:15 (opens at 7) and the line wasn’t bad at all. Wait time was about 30 to 40 minutes on a Saturday night.
Great actors, great set, pretty cool theme. Would definitely recommend this place if you like haunted houses! At one point I asked an actor if he could stop scaring me and told him I was terrified! 🙈
Walk through lasted about 15 to 20 minutes! Great thing was that they made sure you weren’t piggy backing the group ahead of you, which is MUCH APPRECIATED! (I hate when that happens)
I was surprised that they weren’t selling food/drinks and that there weren’t actors outside trying to scare you. The exit area was a tiny bit weird (all that space could definitely be used to add to the experience somehow). Would have been cool if there was a backdrop or prop for people to take photos with. (Side-note: If there was video/photos capturing my reactions I 100% would have purchased)
I would rate Darkness Rising 4.5 stars but, the fact that they give back to charity (YES Community Counseling Center) bumps them up to a solid 5!
I totally prefer coming here instead of other overrated/overpriced haunted attractions on the island. Can’t wait to see what they have going on next year. Keep up the great work and thanks for scaring the...
Read moreOMG!! My family & I went on Sunday 10/13/24 and let me tell you what a great attraction. So many rooms. The props and actors were so freaking good. There were so many cool scenes. They had a fog room that had lasers and the set up was tier 1. I have never seen anything like that before. They even had a room where you crawled to the next room. We were greeted with one of the owners at the gift shop. She was such a delight talking to us about the attraction I found that so nice to have a conversation with her . The con:: We did get there when it opened and had our tickets already purchased . The line was a bit long and then had to stand on another line inside so that was a-little much. But standing in line you can hear the screams so it had us excited and didn’t mind the wait that much. Also we were in our own group and we were enjoying each room by not running(as a rule of there’s) but the group behind us was running and was on top of us for most of the trail which was annoying since they kept running on top of us. But overall we are looking forward to going...
