Wow, just wow. I am never able to find comfortable bras in my size. When I called Adrianna encouraged me to come in before I left town and I’m so happy I did. When I showed up at the shop I waited for a few minutes and then told the first available employee that I had just talked to someone on the phone and Adrianna heard me and said she was the one I talked to and said she’d be right with me.
She measured me and put me in the most comfortable bra I’ve ever worn in under 10 minutes. When I told her of the lingerie store I had been at the previous day (in another city) and that they’d put me in an A cup, she very gently suggested they may have done that because they were short on sizes. That 50 A did not fit horribly (almost unbelievably), but the 46 FF that Adrianna put me in was a dream. In fact the other shop had told me that I was lucky, my size was the last one they had in that style. Less of a case of luck and more one of opportunistic salesmanship.
The fitting itself was also a MUCH more comfortable experience. At the previous shop the saleswoman wanted to put the bra on me - not pleasant! After Adrianna measured me she stepped out, and handed a bra in to me to put on myself, thank God, then stepped in once I had it on. She assessed the fit, asked if she could make some adjustments, then talked to me a little about what I need for fit in a bra. She did not push me to get an underwire which everyone always does because of my size. In fact she said that the wire has to end somewhere and for someone with as much tissue as I have under my arms, all an underwire is going to do is poke me (she gets it!). She also said I am usually going to find a better fit in a UK sized bra because they have a much wider range of sizes.
If you’re nervous about this experience I cannot recommend Allure and Adrianna any more highly. Thank you so much!

Read moreSo my girlfriend had been talking about this great new lingerie store she had been shopping at, and one day she decided to drag me in with her. Retail shopping is not my thing, but I figured hey, why not – I mean, it is lingerie after all right? We went into the store, and she introduced me to Sarah, the manager at the Brookfield location. Sarah was great about making me feel comfortable there, talking and joking with me the whole time.
OK, I admit, after being in there a while I did start to get the sweats … but believe me, it’s only because I’m a dude, and retail shopping is not super high on my list of great things to do. But then again … we are talking lingerie here, so there’s definitely some benefit to me, too!
Basically, I suspected this was just a ploy on my girlfriend’s end to get me to go back and buy her some gifts from Allure, but since the store keeps ALL her records on file (and I mean EVERYTHING) it would actually be a pretty painless process. In fact, I could even call the store instead of going in, and they would guide me and suggest things that they know she would like based on her past purchases, and would fit her because they have all her sizing info on hand.

Read moreI have shopped for myself at Allure a couple of times and have made several gift card purchases. The first experience was fine but felt the fit was a bit tight but was told it should be so I let it go expecting the bands to get more comfortable with wear. They didn’t. I went a second time and was fitted for 3 different styles of bras. I requested a different color of one of them so the clerk exchanged the color and met me at the checkout where she bagged the items so I didn’t see them. I didn’t have a need to wear 2 of the bras until recently and discovered one of them was not my size. In addition, 2 of the 3 bras I purchased were the same convertible style. I had been wearing one of them and have had to cinch up the straps so high that they will no longer work as convertible with the hooks. When I tried to return the 2 problem bras I was told it wouldn’t be possible because I was outside the 14 day return window, “it’s on the receipt and we are very explicit on our policy”. I requested store credit or exchange especially for the bra that wasn’t even my size and was denied.
