I go to Mimosa for lunch at least a few times per month. It always offers incredibly high quality breakfast food, with emphases on fair trade and organic food. After 3 years eating here, the high standards haven't dipped, even during COVID.
Taste 5/5 They flavor the food well. Lots of herbs and impactful sauces that separate their dishes from normal counterparts. Omelettes are soft, creamy, and fluffy. Eggs Benedicts have perfectly toasted English muffins drenched in a delectable hollandaise sauce. They don't skimp out on anything here.
Presentation 5/5 It's a classy place with great visual appeal. Just take a look at the burger I ordered, served to show off its ingredients before putting it together for the first bite.
Options 5/5 The menu offers a lot of food and alcohol (the place is called Mimosa haha). My favorite items depending on craving are: Sweet craving - Chocolate Almberry pancakes Egg craving - Pollo Picante Omlette or Benedict Dolores Hungry, want a lot of food - Christmas Burger with side pancakes
Most menu items come with a side like Mimosa potatoes (delicious!), buttermilk pancakes, or fruit. So you definitely get a good amount of food and can add something sweet or savory to compliment whatever you get as your main meal.
Customer Service 5/5 Staff are always nice. During COVID restrictions they were coming outside in the cold to take curbside orders and not once did I see someone complain. For dine in, you get great attention from servers that respect customers and also manage to keep things moving during busy times.
Wait time 4/5 They get busy. Definitely a very popular spot so you do have to wait sometimes if you're there around breakfast or lunch. If you plan ahead they are on top of online/phone orders. Or if you use a food delivery app thats works well with them.
Price 4/5 Reasonable prices that can get expensive if you want a couple different items. The quality, quantity, and taste justify the price in my opinion. After 3 years they're still a top choice for brunch.
Overall 5/5 It's hard to find anything to critique with this place. They provide delicious food with great service. I highly recomend this place for a quick meal in the area or a spot to sit down with friends, family,...
Read moreSo I came here with my dad per the recommendation of my twin brother who says this is his favorite breakfast place. The food is good, but I was hyped up to believe it was life-changing and it's not. The drinks we had were great (mimosa and coffee). Dad ordered Belgian waffles with berries and bacon, I ordered chicken and waffles with bacon. Both my dad and I agreed the bacon was not good. It tasted overcooked and just wasn't great. The waffles were good and very light. I really liked the chicken; it was cooked perfectly and the breading was very good.
So why 3 stars? Well first, the water tasted off. Like, I don't know if it was the aluminum cup or something else but it tasted somewhat salty. I asked my dad if he thought it tasted off but he didn't seem to think so and suggested it could have been the cup. Also, getting into the restaurant is a hot mess. There was almost no parking. The lot is just too small for the crowds the restaurant gets. Second, the confusing wait-list. So, I was told ahead of time to put my name on the wait-list which I did, but this system is so confusing. It said I would have a 2 hour wait because there were 17 people ahead, but in actuality there were 17 people on the wait-list and that we had to arrive within 2 hours. And when I marked that I had arrived they gave us 5 minutes to park, get into the restaurant and flag someone down to get seated. This system is bad and it would be much easier if they just took reservations.
Lastly (and I feel like this is something that is pretty concerning) the syrups are not labeled. So, our waffles came with 2 different syrup containers with different types of syrups (one is standard syrup, the other is a rosemary-soy sauce syrup). We weren't told until we were already eating which one was which and my dad put the rosemary-soy sauce syrup on his. Considering food allergies and dietary restrictions I feel like there's no excuse to not label the syrups. I asked my brother and he says that he always confuses the syrups, which I feel highlights the need to have these labels.
Overall, I still think this is a great option. The food was still solid, and the service was super fast and friendly. I'd come back on a...
Read moreThis is going to be a long review so I'll start with the meal first and you can stop reading whenever you want after that. Hands down this was a fantastic meal for all of us 6 diners. The server was a master multitasker and did it well. The food was served quickly and correctly. I had the Eggs Benedict and can honestly say it was the best I have ever had. The pancakes, sausage, beet salad, hashbrowns, fruit, bacon and anything else we had was done to perfection. Only locally sourced and (I believe) organically grown ingredients are used; the eggs are the deepest color you can imagine, and all the tastes are vibrant. Our only downside was the noise level in the side room where we were seated. Conversation was not always easy. When I say we all cleaned our plates I am not joking. I also had the new Paradox juice which is a wonderful combination of juices; I just wish it came in a bigger glass. Now on to the other wonderful details about this location. I asked a staff if they had outdoor seating and she started a wonderful conversation all about Mimosa and the many things I would only know if she had told me. The outdoor seating is beautiful and on a warm day, with a light wind it would be a very calming place to dine. This location is all handicap accessible. They pride themselves on being special diet considerate; the kitchen is setup with separate areas to avoid cross-contamination. Whether you have allergies, or dietary restrictions of any kind, speak up and they can assure you of your safety. Having been in the restaurant business I can tell you this is very impressive, and I give them high points for this. They are also involved in giving back to the community charitable organizations and have donated many thousands of dollars to those in need. Bravo! And they list all their local sources on the board. If there is a wait for a table you can have a seat at the front bar area and enjoy a mimosa. I want to thank GM Amanda for taking my one question on a ride of all Mimosa has to offer. I am impressed with a business that took so many steps to be inclusive and caring while serving incredibly great tasting food. I cannot recommend...
